hi paddywack marbles shud be ok for ammo mabey a bit to big but dont worry about it what catty are you using as different types might need a different style of shootin as for tips on how to use a catty ill tell you how i do it and im no expert at all hold the catty in your weak hand and hold on the side then keep your weak arm locked use your strong hand to pull back, line the top fork onto the target and i try and move my wrist slightly to line the band up to the top fork as always you need practice and more practice mabey someone might tell us a different a

iv also had a few runnings with farmers, one time i was in the middle of his sheep field with the pup on lead stock braeking him when i heard loads of shouting i just ignored him, he came over and started having a go saying hes sick of young lads setting dogs on his sheep and he was going to get the gun, so i told him what i was doin and he was alot calmer and started asking questions about the dog and if i was goin to work him ect, we talked for a while and i offerd him a smoke and we parted on good terms he just waves when he sees me now another time i went to go to stockbreak my pup at

its not just farmers, landowners and keepers that have this opinion on lurchers, iv had genral public have a go when walking my lurcher, only happend three times up to now all on public land 1, was an elderly woman shouting at me to put my dog (5 month old at the time) on his lead because lurchers are vicious and he would kill her 3 small dogs. i simply told him to sit and wait while she was souting and running around tryng to gain control of her terriers which were acting alot more aggresivly than mine 2, was a horse rider coming towards me and the dog he got abit exited or afraid an

my lurcher pup likes puddles too, either runs at full speed splashing me as iv noticed he only runs through them when im close to them or pounces with his front paws and spins in circals in them. it was funny at frist but can get annoying. he dont roll in shite as yet but hel eat it and has a horrible habbit of rolling on anything dead and rotten, dead rotten wiesel was the smelliest up to now :sick:

iv been wanting to take the pup out to watch and learn lamping for a while now and missed a few outings with mates but my dads mate rang me last night askin if i fancied a shine with my pup which is about 8 month old and his dogs. as you can imgine i jumped at the chance. he picked me up about 10 and we drove to his prmission, shone the first to 2 fields without any luck, third field ther was 3 hares and a roe so becauseof the f**king ban we crossed the fence and the fourh field had about 20 sets of eyes in the lamplight. first few runs i let the pup watch but he was goin mental pulling an

iv got a salukix pup about the same age as you he was coming on well retiving to hand and recall was good but he jus started to do his own thing more and more but hes getting better now i stopped loosing my temper with him, he sounds as mad as yours he never stops running and when hes off the lead and somone is walking towards us with a dog or not he jus runs at them full pelt runs round them and runs back to me. i too would like to here some answers to your question

yeah i agree i dont think it done the breed any harm as none wer agressive ect i think the lad in the flat had good intentions unlike some young las with bull breeds he just didnt think the full thing through, it was unfair it was stuck in the small room all day but some dogs are stuck in kennels all day anothr good thing is it might stop people think twice about breeding for money. i would love to see a show about working lurchers on Tv as most people think there underweight and kept in cruel conditions ect when in reality MOST are feed good quality foods and have plenty of exercise

get alot of lads like that round my way they al seem to have staffs or pitbulls and never on the lead i had a problem whilst stock breaking my pup the farmer went mad saying hes sick of young lads like me setting ther dogs onto livestock idiots i think the bbc or anyother should make a show about genuine lurcher lads as it might help with the predudice and bad press about lurchers other than news stories about iligel corsing and gangs of lads lamping the fook out of the countryside

personaly i like collie xs as i got braught up with one but i wudnt turn my nose up at any lurcher that was getting out there and was catching
