  1. i asked my dad his opinion on this last night as hes done alot more than me and he said the best deer dog he owned was a lurcher he rescued from the kennels full of mange and underweight so the breeding was unknowen seen old photos and it had a bullx head but was racy and muscular at the same time if you know what i mean, anyway he said it would bring it down and go for the throat sadly got knocked over whilst chasing a roe, ill have to put some of his old pics up if hel let me
  2. what about somthing with abit of collie mabey collie/whippet/grey saying that my old collie/grey was only about 23tts but not all are small i like a dog with abit of brains so thats why i got a salukix pup lol
  3. i seen a lovley 3/4 whippet bull bitch at beadale show in the summer the bloke said he is a terrier man and it does what he wants it for and also uses it for lamping bunnys

  7. id say it depends on the spicies of deer and the ground your hunting on but id have to imagin a deerhoud x of some sort or mabey worker to worker proven deer dogs jus my opinion

  12. iv got 2 barrnet slingshots that i got when i was younger a black widow and a pro diablo, i use to use them regualr and was a good shot, had a fair few kills with them from pigeon to crow squirrels pheasant the odd rabbit and even fish lol all this was when i was about 14-15 years old iv been thinking about taking the black widow out with me when mooching with the lurcher pup to shoot at quarry in the trees and bushes as taking my air rifle out is too risky (too many idiots fooked things up) the widow is small and would fit into my coat pocket iv got a few mates with permission for lu

  15. iv neva had the balls to let my pup off lead in a sheep field yet lol he seems more scarred of them than out else, he did chase after a horse once and got a good scruffing

  17. yeah he will follow me when i wistle or shout him its just the actual recall he will run towards me but run round me and hes back off. i had him out with my mates dog and after they had a play and a good run about he was alot more obidient so might be an energy problem lol. my dad said it might be the recall problem affecting his retrive which makes sence. anyway i got till next season to get him up to scratch and got a few offers to get im out for a watch on the lamp and ferreting, hes good in the house and on the lead just when hes off lead never had a problem getting him back on the lead ju
  18. hi all, (stil cannot loggon from my pc its realy frustrating as i can see posts but cannot contribute to the forum) well a few of you might remember my post about my pup and the pics, well he was comming on perfect but started not retriveing to hand and latley hes getting worse and the 2 things he was perfect at (recall and retrive) have totaly gone out of the window [bANNED TEXT] i call him he just ignores me and carries on hunting up but he always stays close and never runs away and when i try retrive he takes it to the edge of the field about 10 ft away form me hes collie bull gr
  19. there seems to be alot of R.I.P threads latley so i thought id put this thread up to say big sorry to all the owners as its a horrible thing to happen, wether its out in the feild on the vets table, old age or illness. it still is sad to see any dog go. please feel free to post a pic of your dogs past and preasnt as im sure the will neve be forgot

  22. thanks mooshka i am happy i think hes gunna turn out taller than i thought, i mesured him the other night and he was 22itts and i was hoping for a dog around 25-26 as i didnt want a tall dog in the house but hes here to stay now lol i took him down the beach for a run(but forgot the camra ) and my dad come along with his ferrets, it was the first time hes been loose with them and was fine although got abit exited at times but was to be expected as hes still a puppy but i was happy as we went with 2 ferrets and came back with 2. so the ferret braking seems to be workin jus hope his st
