We had a combo too in England mate, always on the go, took me fecking months to acclimatise when I got here........now when I visit England I have to open all the windows and ask them to turn the heating off ! Lol

Have you any access to timber or turf mate?...........I disconnected my oil burner totally and everyone thought I was mental, i am lucky enough however to own 2 bits of bog and a wood so I am totally self sufficient in heating. Spent some money on a modern little range that will heat upto 20 radiators and now my only utility bill is electric. If you can get the timber cheap enough then getting off the oil or gas is the way forward mate

It is not a muslim ban, these restrictions are applied to everyone from those countries many of which have populations of Christians as well as Sunni and Shia Muslims. The MSM have been very irresponsible in their reporting, Obama also had a 6 month ban on Iraqis travelling to the USA in 2011 but the MSM have chosen to ignore that. Mine is for butchered and he cuts it up on the band saw in front of you however you want, into plastics sacks and the jobs a good un. I then just divide it up into freezer bags when I get home....... A lamb is 25 and a cow 250........its all cheap eating when you do the maths mate

Didn't see it, but for me a pig is €50......but when you see how much meat that gives you it's cheap really.

There's no licensed slaughter facility for goats in ireland as far as I know so I just do them myself

Curious.....how much livestock are you rearing? Sounds like you are living my dream Not much mate, I keep 10 ewes and a ram, a couple of young cattle, a couple of pigs all the time until I think they are fat enough to kill, chickens, ducks, geese......you know, normal things.But it's more than enough to feed the 6 of us over the year. I'm not very good round gardening but will be trying to get the growing things but right this year......or rather the wife will! My own personal obsession is the grass in my fields and how to always have it growing to its fullest potential.......after all

None at all mate, like the rest of my life I just thought "f**k it" and piled in and I am learning as I go along. Been a few mistakes along the way and I'm sure there will be a few more but hey ho, that's life. Just ordered 10 male kid goats when they are born which I will rear on for a short period then kill the lot in one go, at €5 each that's cheap meat. Eventually though I want my own small herd of boer goats.
