    DIETS

Always makes me laugh when people say they can’t cook, the very best cooking is always very simple. Id say watch a tv chef like Rick Stein, he will never be working with more than a couple of ingredients and it’s always quick and simple......in fact I’d say he was the best example out of most of the TV chefs.

Thing is mate, that junk is designed to make you crave it......now I’m not preaching because I’m the worlds worst if I get sidetracked into a take away but mainly I cook fresh everything even down to sauces. And of late, the thought of eating McDonalds or fried chicken or what have you just makes me feel bad because I understand it’s pure filth. its harder than you think to eat right when you start looking at the crap they put into food......especially “diet” or “low fat” packaged food. But all packed food is full of crap to some extent, from a tin of beans to pasta sauce.

For me personally, and I never did weights, but it’s more a come back to doing stuff type thing. A change in work and finally retirement from something very physical also assisted my decline......it also took its toll on my back. Add to which in my playing days I was training 3 times a week then playing games Saturday & Sunday. I have ticked along still playing football since I stopped playing seriously but not enough and not at a good enough level. Add all that to a love of food and cooking and it all adds up to I got too fat. So now it’s a question of tweaking wh

Ahh, but you have to be realistic with yourself too mate......I could score 30 goals a season and leave defences for dead when I was in my 20s but I can’t do that now......that just normal. Its just the natural order of things, I think the key is keep doing as much as you can for as long as you can.......your body peaks at about 28-30 then it’s heading down from there, that’s just nature.
  5. And another young forward brought in this morning ! Blimey!.....what’s happening at my little club.......not our normal “sign a couple of 35 year olds on massive wages and call it done” crack ! Lol Im getting a bit dizzy with all this........ once we get over our opening day hammering from City it will be interesting to see how this group develops.
  6. Outstanding mate ! Im sending that to a few pals

I’m the same mate, packed up the fags after 35 years about 10 months ago and put on a stone and a half (which is a lot when I was 16 stone anyway ) I still play football so I wanted to shift a bit and set a goal of 14 stone. Went to see the nutritionist and he has suggested I cut to 1600 calories a day and put in a lot more time in the gym but concentrate on the big muscles (legs etc) Off my own back I have cut out the carbs as much as possible too. The diet isn’t so bad because it’s only what I was eating anyway, fresh food, fish etc. One interesting thing he said whi
  9. f**k off clown shoes, the grown ups are talking ! Lol
  10. I’m quietly excited to see my little club play this season. We have made a lot of young, decent signings.....good quality lads who have been playing in places that like to play nice football. Back up goal keepers are a bit of a concern as is out and out forwards but in the whole it’s looking like a positive, young, attack minded set up. May take a season for them to get going but if we show a few signs of promise and stay up I will be happy enough, anything else is a bonus. I have to put my hands up and say I wasn’t positive about Pellergrini when he was appointed but I hav
  11. Did you f***ing write that on purpose to get me riled up ! X
  12. 100% mate. I just don’t think business can replace something lethal with something infinitely more lethal and call it “clean” because it’s not doing something the other substance is doing.......and if you asked anyone who knows about radiation if they would rather walk into the middle of a room full of exhaust fumes or into the roof at Chernobyl I bet I know what the answer would be.
  13. Maybe “don’t care” was the wrong way to put it mate, I probably should have said “if they really knew the reality of radiation they would be terrified” I think you will agree, your common or garden person is almost complete ignorant of full understanding of what this crap is and can do and how lethal it is (in certain isotopes)
  14. https://physics.stackexchange.com/questions/64916/why-can-hiroshima-be-inhabited-when-chernobyl-cannot Between 20 & 20,000 years.......anyone fancy taking a chance as I bet property is cheap ? Lol
  15. I’ll just add, I do think there needs to be an alternative to fossil fuel but radiation ain’t it and calling it “clean” is highly misleading to put it kindly.........in fact it’s a downright lie.
  16. Mate, far be it from me to cross intellectual swords with a lad like you who actually works with this stuff but (imho) if the public ACTUALLY knew the full facts about nuclear fuel and radiation reactors would be banned world wide. The lowest half life of spent fuel is about 22,000 years and some upto 150,000 years if I’m not mistaken.......which translates to : If it will kill you in 3 days now, then in 150,000 years it will take 6 days ! Im happy to be corrected if I’m wrong. The dose is accumulative so the effects don’t ware off, it’s just continues to f**k with cellular
  17. I know a fair bit about radiation mate, and you wouldn’t get me near Chernobyl for all the tea in China ! ? That shit is the deadliest thing on earth but because you can’t see it, touch it, taste it or smell it nobody cares. Its pure deadly filth of the very worst kind you can imagine and then some and we are burying it in our own planet ! If we didn’t keep deforesting the world and concreting over all the greenery you could drive diesel forever because the world can reprocess that stuff.......it can’t reprocess nuclear waste, they shit just kills everything.
  18. ? ? Yeah, use “clean” electric and treat yourself to 20,000 years of nuclear waste.......much safer ! ?
  19. I can’t see Manchester United doing anything serious for at least the next 2 seasons, that’s almost a complete rebuild job up there. That club needs put back together in terms of players and mind set and that won’t happen overnight. Personally I want to see the yids fall apart but I grudgingly admit Pocchetino is one of the new breed of coaches I really like......I think he had a fairly mediocre team achieving things they really shouldn’t the last couple of seasons. Frankie and Chelsea will be an interesting one, I wonder if he will command more time and respect from the owner b
  20. I said last year that city have raised the bar but last season shows just how high. Lots of teams must look and wonder how Liverpool didn’t win the league as well last season......I mean just how good do you have to be? Well, I suppose the simple answer is, better than city. I don’t care what anyone says, that’s not just down to money......that’s something else and the fact it is something else means any team can aspire to do things they never thought they could do. Klopp and Guardiola have shown the value of top class coaching and coaches who obviously give as much importa
  21. Take it to a vet, I had a dog pull up with a yelp as it turned a rabbit years ago....layed quiet, was sullen for a couple of hours, I thought it was a muscle pull..........one titanium rod, 27 screws and a visit to Noel Fitzpatrick later it was a broken leg ! get it checked

    Brexit

I think the important thing to remember is that it is a majority of the biggest turnout ever in a vote that want Brexit.....no the UK government, no the EU, not Varadkar but ordinary people. And there should be absolutely NO QUESTION of second guessing the outcome of a democratic vote made by ordinary people if you want to hold on to some semblance of freedom from government. The number one priority for any politician who still believes in freedom should be making sure the result is implemented.......because we are all in Europe and if our vote don’t matter then your vote dont matter

    Brexit

It will be no bad thing if the UK shrinks and there isn’t as much money floating around. As it stands there are many places not fit to live, too many people and too much “stuff”.......if it carries on it will be completely ruined. If it makes half the economic migrants relocate it will have all been worth it. Ireland is a nice place to live and that is in no small measure down to the fact that nobody wants to come here and many want (or have) to leave.......it’s poorer (in world terms) and so much richer (in human terms) for being so. If the UK could shift 10 million people

    Brexit

But the fact remains, it’s only the EU (and as such Ireland) saying there has to be a border isn’t it ? There are massive parts of the North that are more British than mainland Britain.....they don’t want to be treated like 2nd class Brit’s and frankly I dont blame them. Varadkar won’t say HE is imposing a border out loud because he hasn’t the guts and nor it seems does the British prime minister......for the present time anyway.
