Talking of backstop and the EU insistence on having a border “to protect the integrity of the single market” How does it sit with you that they are importing Beef from Brazil at the expense of their own farmers and making all sorts of ludicrous “climate” taxes when there is thousands of acres of rainforest being destroyed to grow that Brazilian Beef?

You are rather missing the important difference between a post Brexit UK and the rest of Europe.......the UK population will be free to elect whomever they think can address the problems that arise in the best interest of themselves. EU member states are not free to do that.

I’d say that’s a pretty realistic view mate. And I tend to agree with the Boris getting friendly with Varadkar, which in theory is great if it was Varadkar that had any power over decisions, real influence or indeed autonomy.......but he don’t. He has to do what he’s told same as all countries in the block except the big 2. You can only deal with a man if you are dealing with the man himself.......I think Britain and Ireland should work closely but unfortunately that won’t be Ireland’s decision to make. I wonder if the “Beef plan” protesters feel protected by the great ins

Like all things mate, the more you practice and become familiar with prepping food the faster and easier it gets. Becoming familiar with using ingredients and food also means you don’t normally have to follow recipe books.....you just sort of learn what go’s with what, what the results will be and what you are doing if you get my drift. If you want to change, maybe start doing a bit at weekend or when you have a bit of time in front of you and build from there.

It’s a fact, lots of people just loose that “hunger of youth” to keep pushing and doing more.

Always makes me laugh when people say they can’t cook, the very best cooking is always very simple. Id say watch a tv chef like Rick Stein, he will never be working with more than a couple of ingredients and it’s always quick and simple......in fact I’d say he was the best example out of most of the TV chefs.

Thing is mate, that junk is designed to make you crave it......now I’m not preaching because I’m the worlds worst if I get sidetracked into a take away but mainly I cook fresh everything even down to sauces. And of late, the thought of eating McDonalds or fried chicken or what have you just makes me feel bad because I understand it’s pure filth. its harder than you think to eat right when you start looking at the crap they put into food......especially “diet” or “low fat” packaged food. But all packed food is full of crap to some extent, from a tin of beans to pasta sauce.

For me personally, and I never did weights, but it’s more a come back to doing stuff type thing. A change in work and finally retirement from something very physical also assisted my decline......it also took its toll on my back. Add to which in my playing days I was training 3 times a week then playing games Saturday & Sunday. I have ticked along still playing football since I stopped playing seriously but not enough and not at a good enough level. Add all that to a love of food and cooking and it all adds up to I got too fat. So now it’s a question of tweaking wh

Ahh, but you have to be realistic with yourself too mate......I could score 30 goals a season and leave defences for dead when I was in my 20s but I can’t do that now......that just normal. Its just the natural order of things, I think the key is keep doing as much as you can for as long as you can.......your body peaks at about 28-30 then it’s heading down from there, that’s just nature.
  17. And another young forward brought in this morning ! Blimey!.....what’s happening at my little club.......not our normal “sign a couple of 35 year olds on massive wages and call it done” crack ! Lol Im getting a bit dizzy with all this........ once we get over our opening day hammering from City it will be interesting to see how this group develops.
  18. Outstanding mate ! Im sending that to a few pals

I’m the same mate, packed up the fags after 35 years about 10 months ago and put on a stone and a half (which is a lot when I was 16 stone anyway ) I still play football so I wanted to shift a bit and set a goal of 14 stone. Went to see the nutritionist and he has suggested I cut to 1600 calories a day and put in a lot more time in the gym but concentrate on the big muscles (legs etc) Off my own back I have cut out the carbs as much as possible too. The diet isn’t so bad because it’s only what I was eating anyway, fresh food, fish etc. One interesting thing he said whi

  22. I’m quietly excited to see my little club play this season. We have made a lot of young, decent signings.....good quality lads who have been playing in places that like to play nice football. Back up goal keepers are a bit of a concern as is out and out forwards but in the whole it’s looking like a positive, young, attack minded set up. May take a season for them to get going but if we show a few signs of promise and stay up I will be happy enough, anything else is a bonus. I have to put my hands up and say I wasn’t positive about Pellergrini when he was appointed but I hav

  24. 100% mate. I just don’t think business can replace something lethal with something infinitely more lethal and call it “clean” because it’s not doing something the other substance is doing.......and if you asked anyone who knows about radiation if they would rather walk into the middle of a room full of exhaust fumes or into the roof at Chernobyl I bet I know what the answer would be.
  25. Maybe “don’t care” was the wrong way to put it mate, I probably should have said “if they really knew the reality of radiation they would be terrified” I think you will agree, your common or garden person is almost complete ignorant of full understanding of what this crap is and can do and how lethal it is (in certain isotopes)
