There are 250,000 British citizens in the Republic, I seriously doubt they are going revoke 5% of the countries population insurance cover......but, in the unlikely event they do I will deal with it then. Meanwhile I’ll drive on my UK insurance from my UK address with full European cover. Too many hysterical fannies about mate, I can’t be arsed with it.......I try and just be a bit more practical about it.

I personally think it has more to do with the excuse culture mate. See, I don’t believe anyone has to be a product of their circumstances but unfortunately that isn’t the modern way of thinking.......today your circumstances are always an excuse for your behaviour and that, imho, is poison to a society. Some kid decides to become a mugger?......not his fault, he never had the same opportunities blah blah blah. Total and utter bollocks but the problem is, a generation has grown up like it and they now have kids......you won’t smack that out of them, that’s a cultural problem.

I was expelled at 14 and never went back. Years later, I was back at my old school talking to the very same teachers that I had a lot of bother with. The school had bought a load of kit off me and we was in there delivering it. Would you agree that the PSNI has changed a lot since the mid 90s ? I see more a move towards the gender inclusive, mainland face of policing where as back in the 90s those coppers all seemed to be big old units that you didn’t f**k about with......they sort of looked capable of being armed if you get my drift. Not at all mate, I understand but I have witnessed many people over the years who didn’t have the mindset for things.....that’s not related to gender at all. There are plenty of blokes who think and act like baby girls and they do it at any age. My younger daughter is on with the process of a career in the Army and let me tell you, she is a big fit unit. I agree, women would have their limitations in a frontline infantry unit and we have had that discussion and she accepts that but in a lot of roles she would be a match for most dudes, of that I have no doubt. In fact she was about twice the build of the NCO at the recruiting centre ! Lol The girl is a pure athlete.

Most of the street coppers I have seen the last few years will be shooting people dead for a bald tyre and out of date road tax..........it really is a very, very bad idea.

The balance ALWAYS has to be between the individual and the state.......a copper will always say “we want more power to snoop” but we have seen that government can not be trusted with this power.......they will in almost every case abuse it and you are back to the situation the UK finds itself in at the moment whereby it’s all about the easy target and stealth tax and the real bits of shit just carry on regardless.

I also think it’s cultural, imho you can lock up scumbags until the cows come home and they won’t give a shit. Yes the focus from politicians has changed, yes the police are operating in certain areas with one hand tied behind their back BUT it’s the culture of the nation and the kind of people we tolerate within it that has been the biggest change.
