I completely agree with that mate, however I think it’s always important to know your enemy and know the rules of the game you are in.........I think the common concensus has always been along the lines that if you play the game, do the right thing etc etc then you matter, you have worth and value in your own land. I honestly don’t know mate, it fills up a large chest freezer and the freezer on the fridge indoors and that lasts about a year because obviously you don’t just eat that all the time

Honestly mate, I just couldn’t be arsed with all the mucking about and it’s yet another excuse for some ministry prick to call on you and drive you mad. €350 all in including cost of buying the cattle for a years worth of veal for 6 people is fine by me.

Cattle at the slaughterhouse is much more expensive here mate, they take the piss. Its €250 to get a cow done and they don’t knock anything off if it’s still small like a veal cow/calf

My old man would cook and eat anything, never gave a f**k. Squirrels, mouldy bread, mushroom out of the field, cake......anything. I think he just liked winding us all up with the grottier stuff. Still, he spent 5 years in a POW camp called Stalag VIIIb and used to get locked in a box in the ground for 10 days at a stretch for stealing potato peelings and rotten food out of the bin so they didn’t starve so he took a very different view of things........when you are in the nick with a hundred thousand other blokes who also all want to live I suppose you get less fussy.

Yep, Chinese & Indians are all the same and so are most foreign joints but it eats pretty well and I suppose if you was out there in them countries it wouldn’t exactly be health and safety ! Lol But, then again I don’t like hung game going green and tasting high as a kite and most beef you eat is a couple of weeks old. End of the day, I think if you like it and it tastes nice and you ain’t dropping dead you’ll eat almost anything..... Obviously you have a vested interest mate but a pal of mine is in charge of all the porters etc etc at a university hospital in England, worked his way up from the bottom and voted Labour all his life and he is getting absolutely hauled over the coals by friends and colleagues because he says he won’t vote Labour again. It’s cheaper still here mate, €50 for a pig and then I just get it roughly cut to what I want by the lads with the band saw. Always tag and slap mark mate, you have to be chapter and verse with live stock over here. The local butcher is cheaper for my cattle, I think the last two he charged me €200 for the pair and that butchered into cuts, steaks, burgers, sausage and mince etc but he has a license to slaughter on his premises.

Not daft at all mate, I’m just messing along and f***ing about myself! Lol No mate, I don’t kill anything myself. You have to have it done by a proper place mate and to be honest I’m not so sure I could be f****d about with dealing with all the innards of a fully grown cow or pig even if I was allowed. But, yes all for our own freezer, I do not sell any of it, give a bit away and that’s it.

In the pigs I bred a litter of Tamworth x Gloucester old spot, they came out blinding so I kept a brother and a sister and I’ll breed them to each other to try and nail the type because they are exactly how I wanted. They are b*****ds mind you because I think they are such sociable animals they always get out the field and come down to the house with the dogs ! Lol They just seem to like being around you mate, strangest thing.
