My thoughts exactly mate, the wash stand was such a good colour and I like how delicate the legs are......just a nice colour and proportions so I bought it. The chair was just really “blokey” and manly and again, great colour and ware. f***ing hell, hark at me ! Lol

Yeah, I’d like to have a look mate I really would. I don’t think the price of things comes into it, if you like somethings and it makes you smile when you walk in the room then that’s good enough. I wouldn’t have the knowledge of a lad like Sid who has been in the job for years, it’s just a couple of odd bits to muck about with since I semi retired. I have an interest in design and furniture design in particular, it’s my inner artist breaking out mate ! Thats what they will have on my grave stone : WILF Racist, Philanthropist, Artist & all round good guy !

Made in Ireland by a Franciscan monk called Benedict Tutty, it’s over 20 years old.......dont know the exact age because I have not researched that hard. Clay on a metal base mate. Ill probably sell it, it’s called “Singer”

Haha, I have exactly the same van in exactly the same colour.....except it’s an Ali Luton with barn doors which suits my interests just right. Always had sprinters, except for one Iveco, don’t like these new motors.....too many electric control systems on them. The older sprinters and the 3 & 410s were a much better motor. My old 413 had half a million miles on it when it got nicked !

Been stripping an old pine dresser today as it happens......people who varnish, especially coloured varnish, old pieces should be thrown in the sea ! Lol Then I have a rather cute arts & crafts oak display case to put a new back on. Keeps me busy

I already have 4 kids so frankly I don’t have the energy for the whole “sex tourism” thing........still, can’t blame the old woman, she’s only human after all ! Lol

Sounds nice mate, you miss the too and frow of buying a bit of kit when you don’t do it any more. I traded most of my bits straight out to a pal over the years because it wasn’t my main game. Bought and sold a lot of the mid century Charles Eames and all that type of kit over the years......one or two “proper” antiques on occasion, bookcases, drum tables, refractory tables....that kind of thing. I find myself taking more and more of an interest in all that now I have got a bit bored.

What people always say to me is that it smells in Southeast Asia......which I suppose is to be expected in that climate. It f***ing stinks in Dagenham and Whitechapel so I don’t think that’s such a big deal. Even if I was single, no brass would get me away from the street food I have seen on the telly ! L

Mate, men will make fools of themselves anywhere in the world that life’s cheap and brasses are freely available. Im sure lurcherman was only having a bit of fun with you but the main job is, you know why you are going and what you want to get out of it so that’s all that matters.
