    I do take Francie’s point thought mate, it’s a bit rich some government is telling you to stop buying bottled water when they are putting thousands and thousands of houses at 50 tons of carbon per house before a light bulb is ever switched on ! Once you concrete over something it’s gone, it’s never going to sequester carbon again, it’s never going to grow anything again so they chop down a bit of rainforest instead and on and on and on......

    I think we need to have honest conversations about where the population is being kept artificially high.....and we need to have honest conversations about those profiting from doing it. That is certainly something that could be done but I’m afraid there is just too much money involved, so I take your point about what the man in the street can do and what his political masters are prepared to do. ?

    Actually mate, it is, and we are all guilty.....I’m sitting here tapping away on a mobile device, one of god know how many I have owned in 30 years.....each one of them full of rare earth metals and creating chemical lakes in China ! Everyone in the world save for maybe some amazon tribesman has a hand in this.

    We can’t dictate but we can modify our behaviour towards them. As was said in the film, when these places experience lack of water, food, war we keep stepping in........it left that comment hanging.

    Ahh, you can do stuff mate if only in a small way. I don’t use chemicals on my land, I avoid soya based cattle feed, I farm as natural and traditional as possible. Big industrial agriculture is an act of ecological vandalism mate. So I do that small little drop in the ocean but it it helps ?

    This is what the film told me mate: Africa is having way more kids than anyone else in the world, way above replacement level and their living standards are shite. Britain is not having nearly enough kids to replace ourselves but we are consuming too much. A stat I found interesting was that if everyone in the world consumed at the same rate as people in Britain we would need 2 extra planet earths to sustain us !! If they matched Americans, we would need 4 !!

    Mate, i was expecting a load of propaganda shit. It was actually pretty surprised that it was a sensible and level headed presentation of the facts.....it didn’t preach at all. What he said was, we are living longer and we are not meant to live as long as we are doing.....which I think we all accept and know to be true

    Also a c**t that has bought honesty to exactly where population explosion is happening, where it’s not happening etc etc mate I certainly have never seen it spoken about honestly on TV before

    Now, I have always loathed Chris Packham but I watched a documentary last night that I found brilliant, honest and disturbing. He basically highlighted the explosion in population and consumption and the damage it is doing. Well worth a watch, it makes you think. As an aside I never knew that he had Aspergers, I just always thought he was a weirdo so now I feel I bit mean but I also understand his character a bit better. Ill make allowances when I listen to him in future. Anyway, a documentary well worth watching.

    I see stuff like that and I’d genuinely like to find the person that creates them and slap them hard round the head until they come to their f***ing senses ! ..........probably comes direct from whatever party is trying to get their next bit of shit law through ! They probably have teams of nerds coming up with this total bollocks.

    Telly that puts your blood pressure through the roof ! I dont know about anyone else, but the couple of times I watched the baliff programme I was praying they were going to get beaten to death ! And those coppers programmes should get renamed “nerds on parade” !

    Flying is just so handy, that’s the trouble. I can leave my house in rural Ireland at 8:30 am and I’m in London by 12 ! .......for €10 !! Cant beat that

    I was lucky enough to meet her briefly, a top old girl. Id have happily spent and evening with her, you could just tell she would be great company ?

    I watched one of the best things I have ever watched the other week. A documentary film called “Undefeated” It about a high school football team and their coach, I’d urge anyone with even a passing interest in sport or human attitude to watch it, it’s awesome ?
