Don’t put words in my mouth. You said it should be dealt with globally and I said that’s a fair comment. It I then said that I think we should deal with problems where they exist, consumption in Europe, population in sub Sahara Africa and the rest of the 3rd world. You can look back and check if you don’t believe me or don’t remember ?

I think the gist of the question is: What would they do with this great wealth that they have not managed to do in the last 300,000 years ? And I have an extra question, how would this have any impact on them having an unsustainable birth rate well in excess of any other country and how would it contribute to helping the problem of over population and ecological vandalism ?

The rule they applied is on groupage (I’m sure you all know what groupage is so I won’t explain) but if one single line on one bit of paper relating to a single package is wrong, the whole truck and every other bit of freight is held or rejected.

A little unreported gem is that the EU sent a directive to customs in Ireland to apply an extra, and more damaging rule, to road transport from the UK. They did this on completion of the trade deal. They don’t apply the same rule to sea or air freight......that is totally genuine. The head of the road transport boys told TD’s at a committee hearing the other day and even they didnt know about it. Dont know if they have done the same in the rest of the bloc but I bet it’s a safe bet that they have.

I think there is too much profit in keeping things artificially high mate, as Newkid said I don’t think there is any will to deal with that. We are simply moving the problems around and in turn creating problems in other places. It said that LA has to get its water from 150 miles away but if there is a drought the people who loose are the ones where the water comes from. Thats the story on every facet of this problem

The other subject in there was something we suffer with here, mono cultures of forestry. Monocultures are bad whatever they are, there is nothing lives in the forestry plantations here.
