They would back the French without question imho mate, even countries that didn’t wouldn’t say it out loud. France is a pillar of the EU as you know, nobody in the EU is going to take sides with Britain all the time we have a hole in our arse.

Still as I say all good fun and something we British love if we are honest. I have always believed that us British are all thugs at heart, we have been fighting every c**t forever, it’s just naturally us. Imho every single true born British man is only ever 2 schools, a couple of university’s and some life circumstance away from bottling geezers in a local boozer somewhere ! Lol ?

That brings to mind a Belgium warship I saw tied up on the Liffey in Dublin and I remember thinking at the time “Belgium warship ?.......it’s like a paraplegic saying look at my new football boots !” Lol

I just thought it may be too high profile a thing to do just in isolation ? Of course, it could be as you say a unilateral move but Ireland’s proving a sticking point and the Irish government now shits real are the proverbial fence sitters. Compared to the U.K. the EU have made an absolute bollocks of the vaccine roll out, it’s everything you know top heavy, decision by committee, massive burocracy always is.......it could easily put a spot light on the whole institution and they are doing everything they can to cover that up now nations will be watching to see how Britain cracks

A sacrificial lamb to say to the world “look at us policing ourselves !”......fact is, they had 10 Spanish artics on Irish fishing docks last week to load catches off of Spanish boats while Irish boats are confined to harbour because they ain’t allowed to go fishing !

Yeah, I read that too mate but you and I know they won’t be doing this without prior consultation with the government. I don’t think it has anything to do with Jersey personally, I think it’s ultimately all about Northern Ireland ?

The road freight people in Ireland told a committee of TDs (MPs) about the extra rule, TDs claimed they didn’t even know. Came direct from Brussels to revenue & customs. Their complaint and the story has been buried mate. Whats good for the goose and all that...... I still believe Brexit was the right thing to do but at this early stage (D-day plus 5 months) the only people winning are governments. That will hopefully change but it will take time and we have to watch these pricks in Britain and the EU carefully because at the moment Brexit is set up for them, not u

It sounds a little bit like the British Government has done with the fishing licenses what the EU has done with road freight customs rules, chucked a little bit extra in there at the last second to really make life a pain in the arse. It will all come to nothing and the bottom line is, the little man will end up paying in Britain and the EU. Brexit has been a gift for governments & beurocrats , they are clawing in so much tax revenue and demanding so much information it’s just not true.

Your knowledge of the whole subject is way above my pay grade mate, very interesting stuff and a subject you obviously have a keen interest in. I always just use the basic rule of thumb that says “If we British are doing something then we are probably being two bob about it somewhere in the mix!” Lol ?

And yet air launched anti ship missiles (in this example the Exocet) did us immense damage in the Falklands conflict......I think it was a miracle that we didn’t loose more ships. As it was they sunk our helicopters which meant them blokes had to walk across those bloody islands ! Im sure they have considered it all but it does seem strange to not have that, seemingly basic, capability dont you think mate ?

So, are we saying that if a destroyer or a battleship (not sure they have them anymore ? Lol) comes to destroy that new Aircraft carrier, none of the jets on board have the capability to defend it to maximum effect unless, as you say, they go on a suicide mission ?

It’s the policy of just saying “yes” that isn’t working. Thats the crime because it creates the attraction to actually attempt these crossings. If they were put on transport and taken directly back it wouldn’t worth the journey and eventually more would stop even trying. People are dying because they know if they make it, they will be welcomed ! The amnesty of allowing “refugees” to flood into Europe is causing death and misery all ways round. I think history shows that “boots on the ground” always end up having to sort things out, of course they all work in conjunction and facilitate each other but it’s young men spilling blood into the soil that puts an end to things eventually. The EU seem hell bent on provoking Russia in the east when they don’t have an army in any of the EU countries worth the name. Sea power won’t deal with Russia, ever. Sea power gets men and supplies to any part of the world......that’s the function as far as I can see. Thats another reason why I see it as just a massive, expensive gimmick.
