Since Dog the Bounty Hunter I can’t take anything to do with Hawaii seriously !
  2. Sounds a great way to fish mate, my personal favourite was surface fishing and it’s a method I’d turn to regularly without hesitation. Strange how many carp anglers seem to be scared of surface fishing.

    Sheep?

That looks exquisitely hideous ! How comes you don’t ring them as lambs ?

    Apparently so mate
  5. The reason (as I’m sure you know) for the length of hook link is because of how carp feed mate, suck and tilt.....over about 6 inches and the fish will be pointing at the surface. Its about the optimum length for all the mechanics of the hair rig to work to the best of their ability. Thats why the fulcrum point (in my case it was always free running lead weight) is set there. Never really used semi fixed lead set ups as you can’t really get an idea of what’s going on in your baited area with them.
  6. Somebody tell me with a straight face that country ain’t f****d ?
  7. Personally, I wouldn’t bother with boiled baits for fish that had never seen them or been fished for seriously. If you are trying to avoid crayfish then one of those wooden balls you can buy from craft shops left soaking in fish oil or whatever flavour you like would work better. (Don’t soak in an Ethyl Alcohol based flavour unless it’s heavily, heavily diluted !) Then fish it as a pop up. If no crayfish then I’d just use corn or spam personally, or even boiled peanuts......much easier Shorten up your hook trace to about 4-6 inches, the hair looks fine, decent separation

Like I say, both is completely meaningless to the other bloke......why would you bother to read about and HW90 when you can own a Barrett !

I hear you mate, however take you for example. I would have no understanding of what grain bullet or any of that type of stuff so I couldn’t get into something more in-depth with you because it’s way above my understanding......it would be completely meaningless. I loved hunting deer but that was obviously a completely different set of circumstances. I was looking at the background in your pictures and thinking how that Stag would have looked running across there with a hound in hot pursuit! Lol

I think nonsense gets ripped but I agree it can quickly go pear shaped on a whole range of subjects. That said, decent stuff normally gets a good response like FUJI post in the lurcher section, that’s a cracking set of pictures. Also Born Hunters post about his Sika stag, decent stuff and with an equally decent response. Fact of the matter is, there’s only so much you can say about some things.....if somethings good then it’s good, there’s f**k all to add. However, where it all gets a bit busy and messy is when a post is based on opinions......every f****r has one and it’s

For me personally, I gave up hunting with dogs altogether when I moved here and my guns have not been out of the cabinet more than once a year in 6 years probably ! Theres f**k all to hunt for a start, the topography of the land is awful even if I wanted to try and kill the very few things around. If I’m honest, I’d rather feed a pheasant if I see one than shoot at it because there just are not that many......and that’s what I do now, feed them. Pigeons in my part of the world are non existent because nobody grows arable crops. Theres no rabbits, minuscule amounts of deer.

For an example, this is the type of nonsense lads here have to deal with: We have now launched this year's Operation Galileo WWW.LINCS.POLICE.UK Op Galileo is aimed at tackling illegal hare coursing across the county and neighbouring areas Vehicles confiscated, driving bans, dogs confiscated.....the works ! We won’t even get into below ground dwelling critters and terriers......they have more protection from the law than your kids !

Hunting is illegal over here, at least with dogs for anything interesting it is so there’s not much to talk about really except total bollocks......which we do very well ! Lol Also, almost everything is protected so the range of what can be hunted probably wouldn’t be like you were used to.......no busting pigs in Texas or bow hunting deer here I’m afraid. Britain has game coming out of its ears......and you’ll be arrested for hunting most of it unless it’s under very particular rules. Its quiet here because there’s just not that much to talk about. Edited to add: I don’t

    Sheep?

Long enough to get a phone call off your wife at 5am when you are 500 miles away saying “That f***ing dog of yours has just dismembered the dirty great buck goat and I have been up the field picking up the bits !” Lol ?

    Sheep?

The thing would say watch out for is that you won’t get one sheep sheared.....they just won’t bother. You'd have to get hand shears and keep it trimmed yourself. Im struggling to get 10 sheared, they can’t be f****d about with small numbers.

Goats are a pure and utter pain in the arse mate !

    Sheep?

Your in Leitrim right ?.......you need a flock number unless you are very, very, very out of the way. Nobody asks for your flock number if you buy foster lambs, they just don’t, but they do if you are buying off a sheep farmer something over, say, 6 months old. Buy a lamb, feed it by bottle and it will follow you around for life like the best dog you have ever seen ! You won’t get f**k all from the slaughter house.....ministry vets on site on killing days.

    Timber sheds

Many, many years ago when I was 16 I worked on a building site, my job was to clean up after the Bricklayers. What a bunch of dirty b*****ds, there must have been a bin of mortar on the floor of each room. One of them was called Jeff and his Dad also worked on the gang, he was a big fat c**t who genuinely needed help to get up on the trestles. Site agent comes in the room one day and is stood looking at one of fattys efforts of a block partition wall and says “Is that plumb?” Fatso’s reply........ ”I don’t know !” Amazing !

I was saying in another thread before about Sandwhich in Kent, they built a load of houses there. That village has (in no particular order) paid host to: The Roman invasion of Britain The emperor Claudius King Canute Richard The Lion Heart ! Henry VIII Elizabeth 1 They found an original Magna Carta there ! It was an assembly point for blokes going off to Flanders It was mentioned in the Anglo Saxon chronicle and The doomsday book ! But nah.....f**k all that, build a load of houses all over it to make room for odd marks ! f***ing dis
