  1. I'm no fan of Clattenburg - he's too high profile for my liking as a referee. But . . I don't think for one minute that he called John Obi Mikel a "monkey" . If he called him it on the pitch a good lip reading expert could soon sort that one out , and looking at the footage it seems that Clattenberg said very little to Mikel - In fact Mikel was the one screaming at the referee. So the "society of black lawyers" has called for a police investigation - If I was Clattenburg, I'd push for that investigation, I'd have a lie detector test, do anything to expose this cheap little prick Mikel. Th
  2. Seing plenty in and around Leeds. Ive been chucking some food out for a litter of last years cubs - First there was 4, then 3, then 2 now just one left. Probably all killed on the roads.
  3. Hopefully should be a nice size, But Bedlingtons can throw up taller dogs - the adult in the pic must be 18".
  4. If you look at Fell and Lakeland lines you will find Bedlington in their past. These breeds are more closely related than you think.
  5. I'd second that Topper, not as some people believe to make them harder.
  6. I've done the Keswick to Barrow for the past 12 years (40 miles) and that mashes your feet, so hats of to the milers.
  7. Afew pics of the new recruit "Brodie" 3/4 Bedlington 1/4 Fell (N Stevens bred.) Bred worker to worker - and I don't mean the usual rats and rabbits.
  8. I'm sure JP sent a couple of terriers out to the Falklands for fox control in the 's.
  9. One I know keeled over from a heart attack aged 5. It always looked like it may drown in its own drool.
  10. I don't know why this so funny, but it is. Brings tears to my eyes.
  11. This fat cvnt was a big player in forcing the hunting ban through, hope he gets it rough inside. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/1342117/Ban-hunting-or-we-resign.html
  12. Not exactly a jacking story but a funny one none the less. Years back me and my mate used to take the odd trip to the cat and dog pound in Cardonald Glasgow, and on occasions we came away with some decent lurchers. We went this day and our eye was taken by a big rangy Deerhound cross. Anyway, fast forward to that afternoon and we are sitting waiting for a fox to bolt from an earth in an open field - " a dog like this can't miss this" said my mate optimistically. The fox bolts with my terrier right on his brush, we let them travel approx 20 yards and he slips the lurcher who proceeded to i
  13. It's not tough at all if you look in the right places and talk to the right people. Beddy/Whippet a much better proposition if you want to catch the rabbits rather than just chase em. But a good STRAIGHT Whippet even better IMO.
  14. Interesting to see that the one person who voted so far in favour of the KC didn't bother to post to explain why.
  15. Anyone on here who knows me knws I have a soft spot for the Bedlington terrier - not the white fluffy show type pretender, but the stronger and more usefull old non registered fashioned working type. I have had so called pure Bedlingtons and it's no secret I have no problem OWNING AND WORKING Bedlington types with a bit of Lakie in their breeding. Now I am for my sins a founder member of the Working Bedlington site, and there are undoubtedly some sound lads on there with very similar ideals to myself when it comes to type, quarry etc etc. There is also a faction who want to maintain KC reg
  16. Someone was banging on about KC Bedlingtons as viable working terriers on the Working Bedlington Forum, so the question was asked - how many members actually properly work their KC reg dogs - I think there was only one reply. When will some people learn that registration with the KC means a closed stud book and breeding for looks, movement etc. The Kennel Club and working terriers are not compatible!
  17. The vast majority of KC Bedlingtons are unfit for work. Not just size but almost every other factor you can think of. I have a non KC Beddy here - 18" tts, but narrow fronted enough to reach some.
  18. I got done when I was a youngster - trying to be a hero at the end of a dig. Straight through the welly and held on for what seemed to be forever.. I was the only one who wasn't laughing that day.
  19. As you know John I've known that lad for years and he has no reason to change to anything else. Nice sized terriers, but not sacrificing any strength or power. From what I saw of them recently I was very impressed.
  20. Can't defend my arse, i'll nip up the road and tell him to his face lol, looks like theres some disgruntled beddie owners on I have never had a dog related to Rambo and I never saw the dog in action, but I have it on good authority that Rambo was very young on that dvd. 2/3 dogs in the dig isn't my cup of tea but only the lads involved can explain the whys and wherefors. I have met Stuart and he is a nice fella - getting on a bit now and not in great health, but this big man talk about going down to his house and telling him whats what is pointless and makes you (Busterdog) look a bit
  21. Just trying to work out the mind set of someone who "digs up" (no pun intended) a 5 year old thread, and and starts asking daft questions. I can only imagine that the inquisitors have dogs who are so good, they are beyond question.
  22. I'm sure they would Blew, and most probably would. I can only go from personal experience, and I guess that also never having seen a truly great working Border, I'm biased towards the Lakies.
  23. Wouldn't it be easier to just get out for a walk with the dog? Have you had a Beddy before? you might be pleasntly surprised. That would give you an idea of what he's like. I'm sure Alun can fill in on any breeding details if it does come from him. I don't like to see Bedlingtons being moved on at this age, very tempremental dogs sometimes.
  24. You have a Beddy in the for sale section. Is this a coincidence?
