I've got my pup running the lure Ray,not raced another dog & i won't either, just a bit of fun for the dog,he enjoys it & the "kill" at the end of it lol,as he pulls up for the lure he growls & roars like a big owld lion haha
That terrier racing with no muzzles is a recipe for disaster lol..to be fair that was just a demonstration at the beginning of the day with the organiser's own dogs not sure what the craic was later on as we left before it was on,hope they muzzled them though as we all know what them little tykes are capable of ?
Had a day out at Ullswater Fair yesterday down in the Lake District, was a great day, loads going on,lurchers, terriers, terrier racing, hounds, beagles, fell races, kids sports,Cumberland wrestling etc ..a few pics from the day ?
Using a dropper is classed as baiting in the eyes of the law,if that's your thing & you confess to it then why not admit to digging badgers whilst your at it because the law & punishment for both is no different & that's a fact boys ?
I go twice weekly to watch the little Whippets running throughout the spring/summer months just keeping them fit & keeping them from getting bored, many of these work as i know their owners, keen as mustard they are, real little whizz bangers ...
Sorry to hear the big dog aint in the greatest health these days Snoops,i have one of Razor's sons & if i could get another dog with the same temperament, work ethic etc id give my right knacker lol ..he was my 1st "desert dawg" & my hats tipped to the Razor dog for he produced a dog for me that's given me some great memories & achieved things none of my other dogs in almost 40 years of keeping lurchers never could..three cheers for the Razor dog from me lol,he could graft to a high standard & over a long period of time,he can & has produced quality offspring too, that to me
Wasn't anything to do with the Champion lurcher far from it,it was in regard to two classes in particular where the dogs left in the middle were "fat, moulting & flat footed" the judge ran his hands over a fawn bitch in particular & the dead hair which came from it blinded us at ringside lol,it had as much muscle definition as a block of lard & a belly on par with a pot bellied pig haha, that was his selection that in his eyes deserved to win a class.. Opinions are like arseholes in that we all have one but the problem being some are full of shit as was his lol..champion deserved to
Yeah i must admit your Sparky dog is very adept at obeying such commands, its not something I've seen before or not at such distance anyways & like you say when your hundreds of miles from home on "foreign" soil and long boat trips to endure the last thing you need is the dog f****d up by being torn or injured when needlessly jumping..i wish i could train mine to do what Sparky does, via hand signals etc..mine & me i suppose are just thick b*****ds haha ?
Christ how time flies!! f***ing hell saying that my idiot is nearly 4!! Should of retired him two seasons ago,he's coursing bred & that's the norm i believe haha
Kind of spoilt a good topic all this crap,im not sure how old Dai's dog is? Maybe 18/19 month old at a guess? So 16/17 months old when it mated the bitch,i see your point Kieran, personally id not use a dog until his 3rd season at least,my bro in law used my Don dog at 14 months old, some folk breed early in case the dog is killed or whatever before getting a few seasons under them..one thing i will say leaving a dog until he's retired or such can have its pitfalls as the c**ts aint a clue how to mate a bitch & im speaking from experience of my own mutts here..the pups have all got homes, let
