My mate said to me that you still need a gun license here in Australia to own an air rifle.

At my school we do agriculture and over the paddock where we have our gardens the were mice holes everywhere. So my mate was ploughing the area where the holes were and i had a shovel and when the mice jumped out i would hit them with the shovel got a total of 43 mice.

Me and my mate were out ferreting one morning and we took the 177. air rifle and we saw a fox the air rifle was useless if only we had have taken the 222. would've have been one more fox down. But a few days after that we got the shotgun and whistled for them and we got three.

20-30 rabbits feeding and its only 6 acres. I have 3000 acres to hunt on and the rabbits are so scarce.

My dads mate says that his mother picks all of the bones out of the carp and make fish cakes out of it. He says it tastes alright but i wouldn't try it.

They reckon ferrets can live up to 10 years of age. So 7 would be a fair age and sorry to hear about your loss mate.

Meh. I'm constantly wishing my family had emigrated to Australia...but I would prefer New Zealand . Thanks for the advice guys, I recently had a look round what shall be my first potential shoot: the owner is currently trying to sell it, plenty of rabbits, no footpaths, very little use but a good reason to cull the rabbits (plenty of crop fields around). But I'm going on a week long school trip next week (woodlands if anyone has heard of it) so I'm going to give the owner a letter when I get back, then try to have a chat and be very persuasive Thank Pandora for Hope Edit: I don

Me and my cousin are training his pup to hunt pest species in Australia so you don't get confused. We took his pup out 3 times before with two other dogs and letting her run around with them, We took her out again today for the 4th time, but this time by herself and she spotted a rabbit for the first time and she chased it but it got away but she wasnt done she was keen, so we continued through the paddock only to spot another rabbit this time she was sooooo close but didn't get this one either but she is doing really well for her 4th time out.

Rido mate it's just she shows interest when I take her out, but when i bring my cousins pup she gets too interested in playing but if she sees the staffy showing a fiar bit of interest to a particular area she will stop playing and start sniffing around. Also does anyone use english staffies for rabbit hunting because i take my staffy out catching rabbits.

Hi i was wondering if anyone could help me with teaching my jack russel pup to hunt, she is 6 months old and she is keen when i take her for walks with my english staffy she will sniff around rabbit diggings and holes. But when i caught a rabbit last week with the ferrets I showed it to her and she didn't really try to attack it she just sniffed it then i put them in a pen and she just followed it and sniffed it. Would it be better if i let the staffy chase and catch the rabbit and have her watch or run with him? would this help?

I totally agree, it would make it a hell of alot harder to do things and you could so easily lose a net or a ferret and why go out at night when you could be just as sucsessful during the day.
