  2. worst bit about it is the gear box will be very heavy so like has already been said you'll need two people. But obv use jacks to hold the weight of the box then pull it back and lower it down. Iv got to do my clutch again on wednesday night. Fun Fun Fun. ATB Sam
  3. jeeps arent that popular here. Mainly because theyre rubbish. Quality and reliablity wise i mean.
  4. It must have something to do with following the hounds on horseback dressed in red. Kind of makes it a bit more obvious me thinks.
  5. cheers for the reply. Wondered what theyd be like for ratting.
  6. Has anyone owned or seen a working norfolk terrier? Or have all the working traits been bred out to make lap dogs? Pics would be nice if theres any about. Sam
  7. id recommend them mate. iv got one and love it. Shed loads of torque and easy pull 3 tonnes. if its 2.8 turbo thats the best engine, the 2.8 na isnt bad its just not as powerfull. Id go for it regardless, and its low mileage Hope this helped. ATB Sam
  8. It sounds like the auto hubs could be seized up. Therefore not engaging the front wheels when put in four wheel drive. Or like you say it could be an electrical problem in the the transfer box. I took the electric operated gearbox and transfer box out of my fourtrak and put one in that had manual 4wd. I also put manual hubs on. Much more reliable in my oppinion. ATB Sam
  9. cheers for the replies. I pretty much know everyone round where i live and although i dont have a problem with lurchers, all the local farmers do. I suppose thats why i very rarely see any. We tend to lamp from my truck which would alert 'lurchermen' to our presence if they were out. But i think its a shame, there are lots of hares and the fens are very flat lol Sam
  10. Alrite lads, I dont have a running dog, i'm a shooting man myself but i do find it interesting reading this section of THL. I see lots of pics of blokes in tracksuits with a bull cross and a hare and i guess i was wondering where people actually use their dogs? Or is that not a good question to ask? lol. I live in the fens and theres loads of rabbits and hares (to shoot and retrieve) but no one round here owns lurchers. I dont know if that resembled a question but theres a lot of people who put pics up and i wondered where people go to work their dogs. If it wasnt a good question ne
  11. 1.9tdi is a good engine. They seem to be good vans.
  12. sorry to hear that. Thanks for the reply ATB
  13. Had a look at all your photos. You are a superb photographer. Sam
  14. thanks for the reply. I like seeing a different type of dog in the field which is why i wondered about collies. SAm
  15. Was reading a thread in the running dog section about using pure collies for bushing and lamping. Any one used/use one as a gun dog? I've never owned a collie myself, just wondered what they'd be like. ATB Sam
  16. check around the floor pans, bulk head, rear arches and around all the chasis for signs of rot as the bodies rust off these, also make sure there is no play in your steering box or ball joints (makes it ride like shit), if you wanna be really really smart take the engine out scrap the shell and stick the engine in a disco, as the engine on a fourtrack will pull a house down its the body thats shite lol will last ou forever then atb..daks The body of a fourtrak is way better than the body of a disco. But i agree with you about the engine
