  1. Ok PRE BAN a beddy x would be a better bet
  2. Matty That dog looks very racey for a first cross, did you breed or buy? ps nice looking dog whatever the breeding.
  3. Collie x whipp/grey could be a possibility but a beddy x whipp/grey or beddy x grey would be a safer bet for the odd fox,all 3 crosses are more than capable rabbit dogs.
  4. How far are you going back sid Wilkinson Anthony Barker that blood line are all diluted now or gone Got mine in 1973,but not bred by Sid,bred directly out of his dogs though.
  5. Is he bred from the old Sid Wilkinson lines,my first terrier was a white lakey bred from Sids line very good dogs.
  6. soon as i show her somethink like at the end of a dig she wont stand off baying she steams straight in and wont let go till its dead . If thats true you can probably salvage the bitch, take her out alone and she wont get any action without working for it herself,it would probably be quicker to let her watch a few digs with the other dogs first but for f...k sake dont let her join in at all, keep her tied up and let her go home exited without satisfying her exitement. Ill guarantee you some muppets on here havent got a f.....g clue and have shot/passed on good dogs because they thought they
  7. One question, does she still have a go at the end of a dig or hold off yapping?
  8. He looks like an artificially big geezer to me + heart attack, i cant help thinking steroids myself? As for dog fighting,i couldn't have anything to do with it myself, hate to see ordineary dogs fight.
  9. Just had one but didn't open it,just deleted it. Thought it might be anti's trying to spread a virus,a friend had a nasty virus off another site in similar circumstance's.
  10. The Scottish lads dog was not picking up or being cautious about picking up,strange for a whippet, mine's a demon runner loads of heart stamina but reluctant to "nail" she's not really interested in sitters, although things have recently improved, All im saying is the Scots dog just altered by all accounts after being bred and now nails anything moving or not, personally i think in our case its just a maturity thing and the dog matured fully after having the litter, Personally i wouldn't breed a bitch at that age but this lad did and it seems to have worked for him. You wouldn't notice any cha
  11. As for running dogs i dont know 100% but terrier bitches seem to get a bit wreckless after having a litter, ive seen it plenty of times and its not a myth as far as im concerned, Ive got a whippet bitch thats not matured properly at 22 months, ive heard that a lad from Scotland had the same problem [same bloodline as mine]and bred the bitch and its completely changed her so there could be something in it? There was a similar thread on yesterday.

    Rats

Weigh the f....r Plummer said the biggest he ever had was 3lb and although im not a fan of his he did kill more rats than most.
  13. FAC Air rifle perhaps? Would have a bit more power anyway That's almost certainly the most ridiculous thing I've ever read. More power is in no way going to help. Ron not trying to be contraversial here but "more power" will help to an extent, pellets travelling faster have a tighter trajectory and are less likely to hit branches,im not a power merchant myself but it is true. .22 at 12ftlb has a fairly wide trajectory,.177 at 12ftlb has a much tighter trajectory, why because its smaller/lighter and travelling faster so less affected by gravity=more accurate. Looking down a ba
  14. Lamping/shooting vixens at this time of year LEAVES CUBS TO STARVE,what dont you understand about that????????????
  15. The only sensible thing is to get some experienced terrier men in,if they cant find the den now they wont find it after they box trap the vixen will they? forget the gun nuts and bull x lampers, theres only 1 humane answer to protect your lambs.
  16. Well said Al, The same people that are keeping Ronnie in the nick have just killed thousands of people and stole their oil,how f.....g naive can you be?
  17. An immigrant who was high on Heroin smashed into a car killing a father and his 15 yr old son in my town,i think they gave him 6 yrs,i read the paper a couple of weeks ago and the appeals court have cut the sentance he will be out in 2 yrs, if we are going to have hard justice lets have it for everybody,it serves no purpose keeping a 70 odd year old bloke in the nick for a crime commited before a lot of people on here were even born, the train guard thing was wrong, but the money was on its way to be burned, the f.....g bankers [wankers] who have caused this recession are bigger criminals than R
  18. Nice looking pup mate, 10 retreives in one go is quite a lot, dont over do it or she could get bored and go off it all together, dont worry about her not retreiving the rabbit skin to much, nearly all pups want to rag them at first and its normal. atb with her.
  19. If you zero your scope at a level target its got maximum gravity acting on it,when you shoot at an angle upwards say 45 degrees the effect of gravity is lessened, therfore your point of impact will be higher and the pellet follows a different trajectory, branches which might seem clear of your shot could be hit. If you are mainly shooting upwards its as well to zero for the purpose or aim a little lower than your intended impact point after testing the point of impact at an angle, depending on your rifle/calibre it can make quite a difference. atb steve. ps shooting downwards with a rifle
  20. Years ago i saw an article about an air shotgun called "the setter" a pump up pneumatic made in the USA,it came with its own brass cartridges that were re-usable,it also had a rifled barrel insert in .22 i think.Definatly FAC though, looked very well made and a nice peice of kit. Mentioned it to a friend last year and he searched on the net for info but couldn't find it,or at least not a picture,he did find the gun listed somewhere though.
  21. The gameing act is the controll of gambling for money, lol The coppers are pulling you under the "game act" which covers poaching and game laws,if youre only after rabbits and have got written permission you dont have any worries imo, Failing that get on the sun bed and wrap a towel round your head, the cops will just think youre a couple of pakki smack dealers going about your business and wont dare pull you.
  22. There's an artificial earth made completely of plastic pipe near where i live,it holds Badger's and i suspect the odd fox, over the years ive run terriers through loads of plastic land drains and they just dont seem to hold well,no matter how well positioned, strangely ive had quite a few out of metal pipes. ps i no longer dig and dont own a terrier,i just keep an eye on local earths while mooching about, old habits die hard i suppose.
  23. Think i should be a bit more careful in this section, some of the lads will be young and i wouldn't want to get them in any trouble, didnt give it a thought.
  24. Sorry mate its a valid point i suppose, but if you leave the stock full i cant see a problem? The weapon would still be classed as a rifle i think, but as you say its a grey area, Wouldn't want to open that can of worms though, there's enough restrictions already without giving them any more ideas. atb steve.
  25. My mate hit me across the foot with the end of the grafter,i was only wearing wellingtons just a glanceing blow, cut the welli and badly bruised me[perhaps broke didnt x ray] couldn't walk on it for ages, clumsy b.....d broke my finger on another dig dropped a rock on me,glad he's retired thinking about it.
