  1. Not sure about hound /greyhound crosses but if i was determined to try it i think i would use a "Harrier" instead of a foxhound, same thing but in a smaller package, the pups should be lighter in the bone and a bit more agile.Just a thought, good luck.
  2. Daz if the two faced b*****d we had an agreement with haden't let his mate's shoot everything in sight,i could see some invitations being sent out, talks f****** cheap, and people say there's good lads that dont bother with forums,i wonder why?
  3. I dont think there's really one answer to this question,if you run on big flat lands then obviously Saluki xs have the advantage, having bags of stamina, but on smaller fields they are at a disadvantage because of their running style, where we live the best dog ive ever seen is a cross between top coursing bred dogs containing Saluki and very good lamping blood, the only dog thats ever managed 3out of 3 and killed 8 off 8 slips over a week and a half period, that might not seem extrodineary to the 5 out of 5 merchants on here but all i can say is lads have been with dogs that were regularly run on
  4. Some sensible advice from the other posters there, Her's another trick to try,but not allways easy.Wait until the dog catchs a rabbit in the daytime jump behind the nearest wall/bush and hide so he cant see you but you can see him,the dog will be concentrating on his kill at first so leave him a minuite then give him a call, when he looks round and cant see you he should come looking if you have a decent bond with him, when he gets pretty close come out of hiding and encourage him to come to you, hopefully he's that glad to see you he forgets about the rabbit and comes to hand, then its a case of
  5. Easy to spot the guys who actually "do a bit" good post mate.
  6. Great advise "drop the nut on them" "kill their cat" that just proves what the anti's say about us! violence only makes things worse as a general rule[from experience] These idiots who knock hunting dont realise its them who are "faulty" for not having any hunting instinct, best to play things down and try and ignore them. If you carry on hunting you will learn things they never will and eventually know who the losers are. After nearly 40 years of hunting/shooting/fishing,i wouldn't change a thing, great friends great dogs and great sport. good luck and "NEVER GIVE IN"
