  1. Aye we had some very long runs on some bunnies!! twisting and turning like the best of them!!
  2. Went out for a cheeky hour last night, was blowing a right gale!! just went local with no intentions of many runs, pups coming on nicely now, retrieving, following the beam etc.. caught 1st slip so that was promising! had 4 by the end of the night, missed a couple of easy ones! but caught a few harder ones, started following the bunnies into cover aswell getting them to pop back out!!
  3. Rabbit, BARF, with the occasional egg, sardines, tuna etc. sometimes give a scoop of Purina Pro Plan. (its free from work so why not!!!)
  4. it was good, could of done with abit more wind!!! was very still!!!
  5. no problem mate!!!! she will catch a hell of alot more in the up and coming months!!!!
  6. Had a quick shine out on the lamp last night with Airbourne.. just getting his bitch fit and infront of some rabbits, bitch ran very well, rabbits were abit thin on the ground, but what we spotted she had!! ended the night with 10 rabbits but one had mixi, and one was killed by my van.
  7. pup does still look abit young (puppyish) would of waited until 8-9 months to start slowly, but hey ho!! its your dog mate!! well done! at least your getting out and working your hound!
  8. im interested mate... drop me a PM with info etc... NH
  9. Just a quick update on 'Sticks' progress.. shes now nearly 11 months old.. just been concentrating on lamping the past few weeks, and shes slowly starting to catch very confidently. another plus point ALL retrieved LIVE to hand, nice natural retrieve now, grounds hardened up too much recently, so waiting for rain so i can keep this huge learning curve going!!!! YIS NH!
  10. i can definatly relate Skycat.. i get sacks of Purina Pro performance off work for my work dogs, fed the young collie cross pup it the things bouncing off the walls!!!! even after a huge walk!! waking up pining in the pen at 5am! changed her food back to BARF and shes sorted.
  11. as its already been mentioned every dog is different.. mine have a few cheeky runs on the lamp (ground and weather permitting) at around 8-9 month old. picking runs in the dogs favour. early sucess s vital in a lamping dog! (i wouldnt work if i didnt get paid!!!) its his dog, fair play. if he thinks its ready carry on pal. Hes knows the dog best!! ive got a loopy Collie/grey pup (9 month) whos has had a handful of bunnies. needs to mature alot first before any serious work is due. but all the rabbits i run her on are as easy as possible!
  12. big marrow bone..... let it chew itself to sleep... occupy its mind.. f not a bucket ov water works well.
  13. you cant go wrong with a splash of collie... good feet/coat/nose/stamina etc
  14. nice johnny.... no pics of the parents..
  15. Smart pup. But if you're struggling to get her to retrieve I wouldn't even be thinking prey drive and bunny game yet? Nice pup tho. thanks for the advice, but sometimes dogs sniff around and hunt up rabbits quite natural during exercise... her retrieve is bout 65% steady...
