il agree pound for pound the apbt are the gamest you will get the dogo arent far behind.and dont get me wrong i would never like 2 see this dogo/grey being bread.my point was they could take all british quarry no problem as well as any bull/grey as was stated they wouldnt cope.
-
i seen a video of a dogo killing a mountain lion couldnt see a fox causeing it 2 much trouble.think they prefer the dogo over the pit cause the pit dont have the weight 2 hold the boars.

mighty celt replied to Mallard123's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
2 say any diging dog makes a good allrounder is bull i have seen some outstanding dogs below ground not worth a wank above ground. the best i had was a little jackrussell bitch was outstanding on all game above and below anoyher good dog me pal had was a 1/2 cocker 1/2 russell a runt 2 look at but what a dog above and below -

very good thread.wih good honest replys was a good read.fine dogs 2 lads.

my bitch hits them in a sencieble manner and i wouldnt have it any other way had a collie cross years ago used 2 hit them like a train but did pick up alot of injuries.if im honest i wouldnt keep a dog that slowed right up comeing 2 a ditch.a clever dog with a good heart will hit them just not that hard.a dog that slows right up might be clever 2 but lackeing in heart.
-
good right up pal. well done.
-
no i ment workers below well theres your problem he bought of show stuff that do the odd bit of ratting and expected them 2 work below. if there parents didnt work below i wouldnt have 1 simple as.
-
stil would like 2 try 1 for my personal prefrence.if the breeder can prove his dogs are working well below thats half the battle i like a challenge. were his plummers ikc breed or worker 2 worker
-
Thing is though, they have been bred shite to shite for so long that the vast majority dont have it in them. Rearing a pup to be an earthdog always involves an element of luck, but with plummers you would need to be a fekin leprechaun to have any reasonalbe level of sucsess. Just my opinion. FTB truesame could be said for borders and lakelands as there going the same way but ul allways get lads that are breeding worker 2 worker and keeping a good srain going. have u tried a plummber in the past pal.

wirral i realy like your type of plumber and think yhey would suite my needs as i like a terrier 2 be an allrounder earth work tracking game and must be a good busher.u seem 2 no your stuff about them and when the time is right i would like 2 purchase a pair of bitchs of good decent working parents.how some 1 can put down a whole breed of dog just cause they seen a couple fail is beyond me.u swear there was never a black dog that failed at earth work theres good and bad in every breed and u have my respect for trying to keep a good strain of plummber going. no matter what the breed if its in

at the moment most of my pups catches have been from rabbits hitting the fence and bouncing back out or going into cover then running back out. no idea hwy they do that as they were safe till they decided to come back out. they tend 2 do that mate as there lost the dog is after pushing the rabbit away from its normal escape route and they jusy get confuesed over there where abouts.

mighty celt replied to mighty celt's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
thats my point thou we were miles from home dog was in pain heart doing 100mph i new personaly it was very bad and we had 2 make a DECISION.and il stand by it that it was the right one my dogs are a big part of my life but i wouldnt like 2 see one suffer either. no worries anyway it is a touchy subject and i hope il never be put in that situation again. -

Am very suprised an ex greyhound racing man has said this. How many of the track dogs get an x ray before they get put down? This is the point i was trying to make about pets and workers. If you have a worker then you make the decision on working abilities, if you have a pet then you let your heart rule your desicion. Either way it doesn't make you at fault... it would suprise you to know quiet a few mate.i have spent small fortunes on racers at vets.and yes i have also told vets to put dogs down cause in the vets opinion it would never race again.however you still need to get it check
