  7. Why do you want to branch into lurchers? You see, this I believe is the problem these days... Young folk take up lurchers on a whim. Unless its in your blood your gonna get fed up with them pretty quick. You wont put the time in to train a pup and if it doesn't come up to scratch, you'll get shot asap. My advice to you is to seriously think about using an animal to hunt with. It's ok having a fishing rod and a gun, both can be put away when bored with. I know you have a dog but that ain't nothing like owning a working dog for the sole purpose of hunting. Most lurcher work is done in foul weath
  8. PLUMMER WAS A PRICK come on,did he ask if you thought he was a prick of if anyone knew the guy, wats the point in that comment.i think your a prick for coming out with such sh*t!
  9. £25 - £30 is right price. I've had a lot of lessons with trainers and god one's are worth every penny. Going to one who deals with mainly cockers is the best because they is a huge difference between them & springers at times. iv seen the cocker masterclass one.thought it was ok but cost a fortune and theres like 4!!
  10. the tail shouldnt be a problem at all.my bitch has a full tail.the length of the working cockers docked tail isnt much different, you only take a bit off.they do get upto all kinds of mischieve if you let them,my bitch is a little thief but she knows she is in the wrong, still does it anyway, start from the beginning, walking with the lead and simple commands.hope it all works out, atvb
  11. iv paid £20 for ferrets,i bought two today for £30,working jills, someone has had to feed them and what not,but i know there is loooads of people on this site would say otherwise so.....atvb with the sale of your kits.on the other hand, getting rid of piles of kits can be a laff.good luck mate

  14. i agree about the hobs,my polecat hob is just a warrior,if we are doing a big warren and no one is home he will stay down until he is certain, but i do like working the jills, less chance of a lay up!atvb
  15. if there was rabbits under my shed they wouldnt last long with the pile of ferrets doin laps round the garden evey day,2 rabbits is better than a kick in the teeth, atvb
