  1. Yeah, there's not one you could say wasn't 'right'. Two in particular caught my eye - the tall light fawn bitch in the 5th pic down and the white one with the black head (it kept coming up and licking my hand and when I turned round at one point my daughter was sitting in a corner with it on her lap cuddling into each other! If it wasn't for the fact that I'm planning a litter off my deerhound x next year, i'd still be getting a kicking from the missus right now. lol)
  2. I've been asked to put a post up for one of my mates as he doesn't have a pc. He has a litter of pups for sale - five weeks old at the moment, so they'll be ready to go next week. The mother is a 5/8 greyhound 3/8 bull standing 25" ats and the father is a first cross bull/ greyound at 28" (bred by Carreg - or one of his mates). This litter was bred purely to allow the owners to continue their lines as both of these dogs have proven themselves many times (something I've witnessed myself, or I wouldn't be posting for them, so I know the dogs do what's required of them). Both parents have taken
  3. Deepest sympathies for your loss matey.
  4. Nope, that one gets a thumbs down from me too. Imagine that was YOUR wee lassie they dug up!
  5. My wee beddy/ whippet,22" tts, was spot on for daytime rabbits but used her nose too much for the lamp and had a couple of foxes too, but as mentioned, can be very headstrong when on the hunt. unfortunately, I had to re-home her to my grandfather (who takes herfor the odd rabbit or two ) as she wouldn't stop attacking my deerhound cross and the fights were getting worse, so I had a long look and decided that, as most of what I do now is lamping (due to work hours) and less ferreting so I had to find her a decent home (it was only a matter of time before she got seriously injured - wouldn't b
  6. Which one was Dawn? The one with the long brown hare?
  7. Just saw this post and thought of one o my mates who it'd be ideal for, too late though. At least he's got a good home now. asorted
  8. Sad day. At least he got to a good old age. RIP Nipper
  9. My TX200HC in .177 is THE most accurate air rifle I've ever owned, you won't be disappointed (although my HW95k in .22 is better for pigeons and stuff around the farm buildings as the .177 tends to go straight through them at close range - if I had a TX in .22 I'd use that)
  10. Gutted for you mate. It can be devastating when we lose our canine companion. In time you'll remember the good times and laughs and whilst Meg will never be replaced, your next lurcher will bring joy of her own kind to better your life. Our deepest condolences Kev
  11. The photographer was a guy called Steve McCurry. He sneaked into Afghanistan just before the Russian invasion with 10 or 12 rolls of film sewn into his clothing (disguised as a tribesman) and back out a few weeks later with the first photos to show the world what the Russians were doing and the Mujahadeen rebels were doing to defend themselves. He was photographing at a refugee camp just over the border in Pakistan (if I remember correctly) when he saw her looking at him and took the shot. http://www.stevemccurry.com/main.php He used the shot on the cover of his book 'Portraits' Pro
  12. I'd have to say that it'd probably be a similar effect to a snare, wouldn't it? (big thick neck being squeezed tighter in a wee gap) Probably would have been an act of humanity to put the poor sod out of it's misery? That's what I reckon I'd have done.
  13. Er, how old's the shit? and How long's the fecker been deid?
  14. I totally agree that they should have a minimum amount of QUALITY posts. However, why not make them accountable when advertising any livestock? At the end of the day, nets, DVD's etc. can be binned if they're sh1t, animals can't (read - shouldn't be!). So, how's about this?: If you wish to offer for sale ANY live animal - be it a puppy, adult, ferret or feckin Indonesian pygmy-nosed mouse - you must PM a specific Mod with FULL details, including: What it is, how many, reason for sale (if applicable), location, price and MUST include at least TWO quality photographs. I appreciate that the last
  15. That'd be too good for the pr1ck!
  16. 2 examples - 1 answer: During basic training, my Falklands-vet section commander answered a simliar question with this: The best rifle is the one you have in your hand when you need it. Old Japanese Martial Arts Master - I do not fear the thousands of techniques you've practised once, I fear the one technique you've practised thousands of times. By the looks of things, yours is doing the trick. 'Nuff said?
  17. Nothing personal.......but dont be so fecking nieve man.........thats just silly Yep, that's me - naive. Don't want to get into an argument with another hunter over this - we got enough enemies - so I'm off out with the lamp. Nighty night all
  18. They key word you used there Wilf is 'Legitimate'
  19. Well, I'll be the first to publicly apoligise for my comments. I understood that he had been secretly filming legitimate hunters and making it look like they were breaking the law. Sitting watching the programme just now, I reckon the guy did a good job. As a hunter, I believe that any animal deserves a quick and painless death and endeavour to ensure this happens whenever I hunt. How anyone can enjoy watching two dogs (which they've raised from a puppy as we do our hunting dogs - forming a strong, loving bond) ripping each other apart for up to 45 mins (one fight on the programme) disgusts me
