  1. To make a cone draw a circle as big as you can on your A4 paper, cut it out, then from the circumference to the center make a straight cut.You can then form the cone to the desired shape.
  2. Birdlime is the old smelly messy way of doing it.don't bother with it. We just used double sided tape,Its quicker simpler and cleaner. I'll draw up a pattern and post it here with some pics of them in place.
  3. Yeah,Ithink it's the bird lime thats illegal now.But I'll try and find out if this is illegal using a different adhesive.
  4. Didn't think they'd be illegal as they do no harm.worst I've seen is a few loose feathers when removed
  5. Sorry should of given a description... Basicly its a cone made from thin card(we used green 'cos we have some) we cut the circle from A4 card as big as you can get(1 per sheet)the cut a segment out ( 45degs ish). Then added 1 strip of double sided tape for the join the 4 more from the center outwards. make lots then stick 'em in flat your pocket. when you want to 'set' them peal of the strip for the join and form the cone the removeal the other strips, poke a hole in the ground with a stick and stand the cone in it put a small amount of bait in it.we used raisens simply because we had a bo
  6. Has anyone else made use of these?. Used them years ago.But in those days double sided tape wasn't around.Had to use bird lime or sometimes treacle (both messy) After a conversation with a good friend the subject of trapping birds came up, and the merits of different traps(mostly transporting). That's when I remembered these little suckers. Kev(my friend) wouldn't believe they would work well enough to be worthwhile. 1st demo on his chickens caught every one of them(32) in less than half an hour.(all unharmed) 2nd demo in the field caught 3woody's,4 crows,2 pheasant and 7 feral pigeons a

If yo've nowt to worry about just cooprate. Sounds like you've a plank for a nieghbour. It'll just go to show them up as plonkers and they'll get ignored in future.
  9. I get it at work. Being cruel to sweet little bunnies and squirrels. What about the sweet little piggies, all Babes relatives?, I ask as they bite into a bacon butty.

  13. just dont set your snares the ways thatr site says, read GS waters pinned articles at the top. the mutts nutts get some good snares and your away I agree. The DEFRA sheet is more of a guide than 'The Law'. Definately read G.S.Waters piece,It doubled my productivity. Other than that I'd just say use common sense.Make sure you've got permissions.Andregularly check traps and snares. >>>>>
  14. Yep, I'd agree with that! You'll need to spend some time counting rabbit numbers though..................you'll need about half as many traps as there are buns. Prebait them with chopped carrot or the like (keep your bait sizes & portions similar between traps & this will let you monitor bait takes) Place the traps a good 10 paces apart & check twice daily. Don't cover them, but you can paint them green to make them less conspicuous. It's unlikely you'll get many people interfering with them in the location you mention, but you can download & print off a wee poster that lets pe
