  1. Has anyone ever had/used one of these? I was given one about 6 or 7 years ago when i first got into air guns. Found it in a cupboard today, was a bit rusty so gave it a quick clean up its turned out quite good. Had a quick look on the net to see if i could find much info on them, looks like they date back as far back as the 70s. Anyway just wondered if anyone has had one and what they think of them. It seems like quite a fun gun for back garden plinking.
  2. Im saving up for one of these, wish i had the money justnow
  3. Ive had one for a year and its been a very good gun. I've shot rabbits, pigeons, crows, squirrels and magpies with it. The tactical stock is good for hunting as it takes a good beating while getting little damage. People will tell you that the weihrauch hw springers are better but i've never shot one so cant comment on that. John
  4. We bolted a stoat out of a bolt hole we had missed on saturday. Fast little feckers!!
  5. I have a BSA Lightning XL Tactical which i bought new about a year ago. To be honest I have not cared for it as best i should. It now has some slight rust which im wanting to get rid of. Can someone tell me the best way to get rid of this and what i need to buy to sort it and keep it rust free. From now on i'll make sure i clean the gun down after every outing. John
  6. I was out yesterday and the ferret bolted what im pretty sure was a stoat out of a bolt hole we had missed. The speed of them things!! Got a bit worried incase they had had a fight down there and the stoat had came off better but the ferret came out soon after. Dont know much about stoats so not sure who would have won a fight, it was my smallest jill that was down. Could have been something like that that happened, hope she gets better
  7. I got mine done last year, cost me £23, wish i had phoned around now. I've heard its best to only get this done once, is this true? I now have 3 ferrets so when the other 2 come into season now i'll make sure i phone around
  8. Thanks for all the interest but the gun is now gone
  9. hello bud just because the air is comimng out dosn't always mean theres a leak try cocking it before filling as this works with my air arms.first time i filled it the air was coming out the barrel and i thought it was leaking.i was told to cock it first and wo behold it filled straight away..hope this helps good luk with the sale.........regards bri..will nearly pay for ya ultra if this is the prob as worth a lot more than that........... Thanks for the advice mate. Im not majorly fussed about it, it would be hard to value the gun with out someone who knows what theyre talking about
  10. I was wondering if i was going to get replies like that lol. To me (a bit of a newbie to airgunning and not knowing much about how gun shops operate) it looks like an old gun in need of repair, dont imagine a shop would want to buy it from me but i may be wrong. Im just wanting to get some money together to buy a brand new Ultra as i now have a pump and want my first PCP, and i'll be happy Cheers for the advice though
  11. Here is an old falcon lighthunter in .177. This gun was previously a friend of the families that got passed to me. Think it was left lying around for a while and does look quite old. I got it filled from the local gun shop and it seemed to shoot fine. fired about 3 or 4 magazines full through it. I then got hold of a pump and when i tried to fill it the air just pissed back out of it, so someone who knows what they're doing with a gun may be able to fix this. I dont want to pay £90 odds for it to be serviced, would rather sell it cheap and put the money towards an Ultra. The gun als
  12. Nice one, lucky you. I had plans for today which all got scrapped because of the snow, gutter!
  13. These got a good write up in one of the airgun mags http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LED-Lenser-Police-Tech-Focus-Gun-Mount-Set-105-Lumens_W0QQitemZ250584275781QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_SportsLeisure_Camping_LightsLanternsTorches?hash=item3a57fc9b45#ht_1098wt_1167 Thinking of buying one myself
  14. Haha. That was his first time out ferreting, when i picked him and seen that jacket i knew he was going to get pelters for it lol. And yeh thats a fox, pretty grim eh?
  15. And then we came across this on the way back to the car Smoking kills......
  16. Well thought i would put the pics up from last Saturday, only just got them back from my uncle. As i mentioned in an earlier post, while out ferreting i managed to get more permission on a neighbouring farm, so spent the day there and managed to get 10. Ferrets worked very well, this was the first time out for 1 of them. So here's the pics........
  17. Im thinking of going with a .22, only because ive never had a .177 before. I agree with you on the money side of things there, for me all i want it for is to bag some rabbits and pigeons etc, and with the accuracy of the ultra, it will do the same job as the likes of a hw100 would do. They're not going to be any more deader shooting them with the hw100 than what they would be if you shot them with the ultra
  18. Cheers mate. Think i'll get another day or two there, and do a bit of door knocking on a few more farms between now and next season and hope for the best, as auld salmon said, if you dont ask you dont get. Its only 15 mins from my house so couldnt be better Cheers, John
  19. Nice one mate. Suppose getting permission although no permission for dogs is better than getting no permission at all John
  20. Looking good. Im hoping to save a bit of cash to buy an ultra. Heard a lot of good things about them and look a right good bit of kit
  21. Cheers. Yeh i have thought of that, not to sure if the mum and dad would let me but im going to try and introduce the idea slowly to see what reaction i get, or hopefully my uncle will get one as he had a dog a while back but never got a new on once it passed. At least it gets me out rather sitting on my arse doing feck all
