  1. Cheers Phantom. Im delighted with the gun. Im wanting to get out with it more often but with exams coming up think it might be hard I had a feeling someone would ask why I gave it to the ferrets lol. Truth be told I cant cook to save myself so wouldnt know where to start, but plan on looking at some recipes and getting my mum to sort it out for me
  2. Lol good point, gutted, skinned and sitting in the ferrets cage as we speak
  3. Cheers mate. Yeh im loving it. Went from shooting a Lightning XL, to the S200 and its such a great gun, defo a keeper
  4. Decided to go shooting tonight, so text my shooting buddy Scott and off we went, got there for around 7.30 and off we set. First thing we noticed was the 2 buzzards hovering above, which i've seen quite a few times before. They were hovering above something, which we then spotted, 2 decent sized rabbits sitting outside a warren. We tried to stalk along the fence but spooked them and off they went. We then set up across the fence from where we seen them and just sat and waited. After a while a young kit appeared, we decided to just watch it and hope mum n dad appeared, but the bu
  5. Seen this for sale on another forum, may be of interest to you. Although i am always weary of someone selling things on a forum, with only 2 posts, both of which are in the sale thread.......anyway have a look if you want http://www.airgunforum.co.uk/forums/private-sales-airguns-related-items/89277-unused-walther-cp99-co2-pistol.html
  6. alritey mate. this is a cracking site, anything you want to know, ask these guys.

  7. what do you guys think of this, was thinking i could set it up on a hill infront of the nests, in range, and try and pop them from there http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BASHA-BASHER-BIVVY-BIVOUAC-ARMY-TENT-SHELTER-POLES-/150424578188?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item230600e88c#ht_3433wt_941
  8. what about an owl decoy anyone ever used one? Was thinking of maybe setting up a hide and attaching the owl decoy to a fence post, near where they nest.
  9. Cheers for the replies lads. I like the look of that home made hide, might give it a go. I suppose I was stupid asking if it is a lost cause, its all down to learning, cant expect to just go and bag them all first time i go eh? If that was the case everyone would be an expert
  10. I went to my new permission yesterday. Theres a decent sized rookery on it and the farmer would like rid. Its on a small tree line with open land on each side. There's no branchers out as yet, but i could hear them. Anyway, as I thought would happen, whenever i got near they would all scarper and circle above. Obviously this is an easy job with a shotgun, but a very hard job with an airgun. Anyone got any tips on how to approach this? Would setting up in hide underneath help? Or is it a lost cause? Cheers, John
  11. Yeh well he said he sees the odd rabbit now and again, but i have not to shoot any hares, which is fair enough. Not to sure about the hole shooting hares with airguns thing anyway. Yeh its very hard to get near crows, but if the young ones are still in the nests I will just wait till they are all coming back in to nest. Think ill take a rabbit out the freezer and use it to bait them in some time aswell. Anyway i've not even been yet so who know what will come of it? Cheers, John
  12. Cheers lads. Spoke the farmer earlier. He said the rabbits were all wiped out by mixy a while back, but has a lot of crows nesting and wants rid. Going for a visit on Saturday without the gun, to speak to him and have a wander about, so should be out crow bashing on Sunday or Monday Went to my other permission tonight. Not much about. Sat outside a burrow for about half an hour, and one popped out on the other side of the fence from me sat and watched it for about 15 mins before trying to move into a better position, and spooked the bugger ah well Cheers, John
  13. Well, about 2 weeks ago I sent out about 10 letters. Wasn't expecting to hear much back but hoped for the best. Came in from work today, and 2 letters were waiting for me One was just a letter letting me know they had people shooting already but were going to keep my letter, should the opportunity for me to shoot there arise. The other was a signed permission slip, with a note asking to give the farmer a call to sort out some ground rules. Well phone them and spoke to his wife, she said he just wanted to let me know what I can and can't shoot etc, and she will get him to phone me
  14. Nice one mate. Im hoping to do the same this coming weekend, for either ferreting or shooting permission, or both. Dont know if this is a stupid question or not, but what is the best time to go knocking on doors. I work 9-5 but think going at night is a bit late as they will have been working all day, but imagine farmers might be to busy or may not be around to talk to you if you go at the weekend?
  15. Cheers lads. Sorry to hear that Phantom, its always an awkward moment when you first hear these things, you get caught by surprise. When i was packing up i thought 'damn a should have taken pics for THL' lol Im hoping to go back tomorrow morning or Sunday night so i'll get some then John
  16. Right, before you read on, im hoping you dont find this post to boring, as the only shot fired was when i unloaded my gun at the end of my mooch, anyway........... On Sunday I went round to an old ferreting permission i've not been to in a wee while to ask if the farmer would let me on with my air rifle, and his reply was 'shoot away son', result. So i decided to go up for a walk around tonight. Before i went there, i went round to the stables my sister keeps her horse as their fields neighbour the other fields i have just been given permission on, to ask if i could go from that permissi
  17. Yeah i have heard mixed reviews on the mag, but i'll defo be getting one. Nearly bought an Ultra Multi but I now know for sure i made the right choice
  18. I bought the same gun in .22 two and a half weeks ago and love it. Waiting on a bipod and gun torch arriving and getting the silencer this weekend hopefully and will get the AA mag when funds are available. Hope you enjoy the gun mate, i'm sure you will
  19. Im going to get some insurance and wondered what one is best? I have looked at the BASC airgunners insurance for £46, or the BASA insurance for £19.95. What insurance do you think would be best to go for? I dont mind paying extra for BASC if it works out to be the better one. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers, John
  20. I bought the single stock version in .22 two weeks ago, brilliant gun. You made a good choice but im sure you dont need me to tell you that
  21. Cheers lads. Went round to his tonight and just had a quick look. Could see the holes, but there are a good few places in his garden they could be hiding so suppose we would just have to put a few baits out n sit and wait to see if anything happens, they are defo there so should hopefully be productive
  22. Cheers lads. I like the tin of dog food idea, might see if i can go over and try that one night now.
  23. My friend has a small rat problem in his back garden, and he text me today to say hes found about 6 holes next to a burn in his garden that he thinks are where the rats are. I was thinking of baiting them out if possible, and then shooting them from a shed in his garden. Has anyone ever baited rats before? Also, what would the law be on me doing this? Taking into consideration his house is in a residential area, dont want to do it unless i know its actually legal. My other option would be to put the ferrets in but not to sure about this either. John
  24. Thanks for your replies and suggestions guys. Think i prob will go with one of the bipods you mentioned. Will work out about the same price or cheaper anyway. John
