  8. Your ferrets are treat like kings,my wife deliberately leaves the bones in when she prepares fish for me I cooked my husband some fish once & i had hells own game getting the bones out properly I've got it down to an art after all these years. It takes a bit longer, but I just can't stand bones and won't enjoy my meal if I find even one. I'm a nightmare when eating out, I always choose a fish dish and try to pick holes in it! The chefs have to be on the ball lol. i couldnt eat fish with even the smallest bone in it

  13. Theres a lot of difffering accounts as to them being toxic, with the dried fruit its blockages you have to watch so common sence really comes into play , i do however know a silly woman who gave her ferret the raisons by the hand full them she wondered why it died It came as quite a surprise to me...it was after I posted a pic of one of mine on the kitchen table and there was some grapes in the photo too! (so hygenic!! ) she sent me a pm to warn me and a link to the site. Fortunately my boys didn't touch them - they were far too busy trying to leap onto the cooker to get to the fryin

  16. Wouldnt it be down to what fuel you provide in the first place especially a growing dog
  17. They must have been pretty desperate to chance breaking the lock & not getting caught, it amazes me why they go to the trouble when theres ferrets going begging elsewhere I do hope you get them back & sorry to hear some scumbag has stolen yours
  18. Think it was the Wash n Go that cleaned them up, did'nt have anything else at the time, worked well, trying it on the dog next! I wonder if my old man would use wash & GO
  19. Pretty sure you are right Kay . Think ferrets are used for research and preparation of the distemper serum. Years ago I bought some hens from a smallholding and was very taken by lovely ,quiet (in hind-sight ,too quiet ) lurcher on the site. You guessed it .A week or so later my old line- hob came down almost overnight with the classic symptoms ---head full of catarrh, rasping breathing and general miserableness . Yep Distemper. Luckily he had a separate cage and I always fed him last so the disease had'nt been passed to my jills.
  20. Well i have a tiny jill & i can assure you she was bred properly & wasnt fed sops , she is simply a small jill
  21. as far as i understand it can be passed on from either species
