  2. Happy birthday Both
  3. The problem with packet food & the percentages of protein listed as eg 38% crude protein is thats not just the protein derived from the meat content.. its the protein derived from everything in the bag that contains any protein .. eg grain & plant matter so the exact amount of '' meat protein '' is very probably a lot less that the 38% it boats on the packet I will stick to feeding meat .. that is exactly what it says on the packet
  4. At around £ 60 quid a bottle be better taking it to the vets

  10. i think this member is a dreamer the pm i got was fancyfull to say the least & claiming to be someone else who has written books & done dvd's regarding ferreting
  11. Sounds like the hobs in season now.. even if the jills not swollen up he will still try to mate with her best thing to do is remove one of them to another cage as the hob will just keep at her regardless of whether she is in season fully or at all herself best thing to do with her neck is just bathe it in a mild saline solution
  12. Theres obviously a market for processed food .. one reason I stopped feeding it is the general health of the ferrets .. they became very fat & never had there heads out of the dishes .. The second reason was the amount of crap they produced .. and the smell was awfull ... after as little as a month of my animals being switched from a complete food to a flesh diet only the 2 major things was the reduced waste & very little smell from the cage .. They all lost the excess weight & there teeth didnt have brown staining on them from the dried food .. I also switched my do
  13. As long as its animal protein there eating & not soya (vegetable protein )

    Happy Birthday sue
  17. oh ok fair enough i havent seen every post i didnt realise folk had resorted to personal insults...still not sure id call it bullying but i guess folk get brave on the internet and theres no need for it i agree I make the fella wrong myself but certainly not about to stamp my feet about it,its just an opinion thats all. Simoman its all well and good saying what if this and what if that......but the reality IS if you cant afford something you shouldnt have it,when that " thing " is an animal the only fair thing to do is give or sell it to somebody who CAN correctly care for it no matter
  18. Love them or loath them.. there effective predators
  19. It has got very personal .. seems the bloke cant do right for wrong.. if he had left the dog with the injury described he would have been slated .. he tried to get treatment for the animal which i think is the most important thing .. duty of care & all that How the treatment is payed for or not payed for is not the issue the fact he tried to get it treated is

Actually its the violent neck grabbing that stimulate the Jill to drop her eggs and thus takes her out of season. Something similar is a cats penis with the barb on it. That does the same job. if it were that simple then every one would just '' violently'' grab there jills round the neck.. job done That would be handy kay ,? Friction on a very sensitive are ie a vulva the size of a grape, mate of myne had a frustrated jill last season and she would hold and mount one or two jills she took a fancy to and actually brought them out of season, saw it myself a handy jill to have abou

the females need to be ready to be brought out of season without them getting sore bloody necks .. usually the reason for neck wounds is because the Jills struggling to get way from the hobs advances .. so he grabs at her repeatedly.. When a Jills ready she will not struggle & should not have any more than a slightly wet neck where the hobs held her .. if she is ready she shouldnt need more than half a day in with him .. leaving them for days & weeks will probably mean she will get a sore neck Cant see the point in leaving them longer than they need
