  1. Most of the ferret rescues are already flooded with ferrets .. and i spoke to a lady who between 2 groups have over 500 ferrets in there care.. thats just 1 rescue I am pretty sure its the same across the country Seems most of the intake is from companion homes rather than working homes ..
  2. One of the best jills I ever owned a little stray that I ended up with here was just like that .. she was pregnant when I took her on & had one kit .. she would gently take my fingers & lead me to the nest box .. bless her long gone now a lovely sweet little jill

Size isn't always a sure indicator that she is pregnant. you say she is day 39 today.. well she could pile on the weight in the next 5 days .. so don't give up just yet Just to add you say todays the 39th day FROM putting her in with the hob.. how long was she in with him . a day . a week .. that could also mean if she was in there for days or a week the dates might be totally wrong

  8. ok,,,,,both parents were trapped from different parts of the country,,hob was from scottish borders and the jill from mid wales,,,the youngsters will be captive bred wild polecats if that helps you....the reason for me putting them as wild polecats is exactly that,i bred a wild hob and jill,,they are not crossed to other polecat colours which i have at home,,,i kept a jill from last years litter which i bred with a polecat coloured hob which i stated i will have first cross litters as well.... A genuine question,are wild polecats protected? Taken from a peice in the shooting times i

    HELP NEED

    Sorted the bread mate got a loaf last week went with good old hovis white still got 6 slices left so will be ok to next week I just scrape the mold off. Thanks for the offer of nails cant wait youve been like a dad to me just freeze it & get out what you want
  11. we had a bit yesterday but nothing to shout about .. it can do what it likes monday i want to go out tomorrow & sunday so it best stay dry

  13. Is the bleeding coming from inside her or is it the external swelling thats bleeding if the bleedings internal then get her to a vets the only time i have experienced this is with a jill with pyometra ( womb infection which will need treatment asap )
  14. Very sad to hear about the jill.. to be honest its all iff's & but's .. the only way to find out what caused the jills death is to get a pm done & that would prove costly again At the end of the day the jill was treated but didnt make it.. you did what you could for her
