  1. Last ones my favourite as well, no i havent had a look but i will now
  2. a few photos from the last couple of weeks
  3. When i had lots of cages to sort out i aquired an old Aqua vac hoover , after i had got out the shavings etc with a dust pan i would use the aqua vac to get in all the corners & then I would use a steam cleaner with a concentrator nozzle , steams effective at killing almost anything , cheap & safe , just allow to dry the cages inside like you would after using disinfectant I am reading that steaming will deal with fleas & ticks that may be lurking in the cages
  4. A needless death , if the ferrets were in a run type construction & the dog got in it then i would take them to task over it, but to be honest if the ferret were loose in the garden & they got in the neighbours garden then its hardly a surprise really
  5. Little staffy cross I had here was a bugger for snapping at ANY dog that pissed her off , I had a lurcher a year after I took her on & he was put in his place in no uncertain terms, they got on fairly well in the house, but if they were both off the lead & the lurcher tried to brink her down she would let him know he was pushing it , both dogs now gone , but the terrier lived to 13 & was a strange little thing untitledaqaqa.bmp
  6. i know its still early in the year but im just going on what she normally looks like at this time, ill keep my eye on her for a bit Sounds like you have it all under control , i find they look better when they have moulted out there summer coats & get the thicker winter coat, some of mine look a bit tatty at the moment funny you should say that, although mine have finished moulting i was a little bothered about one of my hobs, he is/was a fairly dark poley colour and almost went completly bald untill a few weeks ago and he is now a very pale cinamon/sandy colour with a dark mas

  8. For me gas & air when i was in labour, it was brilliant, I ended up with 2 c sections anyway , fighting with my ex over the gas & air , he was higher than me by the time i had to go down to theatre, i can barely remember it but god it made me laugh to the point where the nurses wondered what the hell was going on in there  I am so glad i had my kids in my 20's with the second one I had a 60 inch waist & hadnt seen my feet for months , huge fat little lump , so when i woke up after the c section apparently I said '' i can see me feet''
  9. The only kind of hunting I have ever been involved in is rabbiting , so when people start to crib about it being cruel , I just simply ask them if they were a horse owner & there paddock was riddled with rabbits & there horse broke its leg because of the damage to the land would they be so caring about a few bunnys if there beloved horse had to be shot To be honest if you do what you do & within what the law allows you shouldn't have to justify it
  10. if she is an active ferret she may well be just burning off what she takes in, all I do with any ferret that looks a bit skinny is give them plenty of fatty cuts , I dont use the dry food , so in the past i have put in fatty mince etc as a bit extra to any chicken they may be having Some ferret stay lean all there lives & no matter what you give them food wise they seem to never gain any weight , if she is ok other than a bit skinny i wouldnt worry , the weathers not exactly cold just yet, you may find once the temps drop she will pack a bit of weight on
  11. Theres not much you go on today that dont include a twitter & facebook app, probably all part of the recent update that Ian did, a site this size will no doubt need updating regularly or it wont run properly, but if the site goes down theres always the facebook hunting life page you can '' like'' to get your fix
  12. we all know what judge & tb like 69's together? But all that happens if you tick like a page is it takes you to that page , it wont link you to this forum , its not like you get a big banner glittering away saying JOIN ME , it will simply take you to the facebook page that was created called the hunting life, nothing more nothing less
  13. we all know what judge & tb like
  14. the problem is, when someone links this site to facebook all of their friends will see and some of them will join, and then the friends of friends will see and some of them will join.......as a result you get any old retard who have no interest in hunting seeing a site and joining just for sake of it. The fact is, if someone was really into hunting, and was online enough to be a member of facebook, they would have already heard of these hunting forums surely?? so linking it to facebook isn't going to attract any genuine hunters, it'll probably bring in hundreds of chavs and will no doubt

  17. facebook only becomes relevent if you link the sites yourself, just alter the settings in your profile on here then any updates you do on facebook dont appear in the shout box on here , i am sure no one wanted to read about my apple pie having a soggy bottom on here , there again some of you might its simply if you have a facebook account & link this site to facebook , if you havent a facebook account then its not really an issue is it ?
  18. I dont think you can ever be to cautious , if you think they need separating then by all means do it , yes they do play rough but it depends on how rough & if one ferrets getting bitten & has broken skin then I have read others use sudacreme on the sores , not sure about savlon to be honest I would always advice anyone to air on the side of caution when you have ferret fighting or have ferrets with constant open sores from very rough play , simply because i had a ferret killed by another one here years ago , and its just made me cautious about leaving them to '' rough'' it out , t
  19. yep I can see the threads now thank Ian
  20. i cant view any of the moved threads in the new sub forums, just telling me i dont have permission to view them
  21. good start to your season well done
  22. Your opinion is hearsay and means nothing Leeview's opinion is based on practical experience unlike your's, it's maybe time you realised you haven't had the hands on experience that some have. Time to give it a rest me thinks. I totally agree , quoting from google copying & pasting stuff in the public domain isnt the same as fact , sadly like it or not candy there are people who have had no issues regarding hormone levels & any condition that may or may not manifest when jills are in season But deep down we all know why you have washed your hands of the subject d
  23. I have found here that any jills i have never come into season before the end of March , & when they do come in, I find they tend not to be fully swollen sometimes untill the end of may , I put this down to them being kept in the shadiest part of my garden, I only get what you can call decent light in the middle of the summer , so i never rush out & get a jill jabbed the day after she has shown signs of swelling they come in & go out , I dont find & have never found a jill to have become fully swollen & stay fully swollen my own finding are they fluctuate sometimes to
  24. if you took them out yesterday simply cut off a back leg of a rabbit for the ferrets to have on the way back in the carry box , or if you didnt catch anything have something ready for them so you can feed up as son as you get back home & then once they have had a feed do the normal handling Could also be over excitement as they had been out previously
