  1. Really? There was me thinking you were mixed race ya self Scot? Can't say I know many, the only thing brown about em is the skin, fully integrated and accepting of british culture and society. That sits fine with me.
  2. A few families came to our town in the early sixties. Worked with loads of Indians and Pakistanis. Used to play cricket and football against them at lunch time and it was always "English against Pakis" None were offended, the term "Stanis" was the one they didn't like Some of them were really sound. My car had broke down and I needed to go about 30 miles journey to pay for a three piece suite so borrowed a car off one of the Indians in the mill where I worked. Felt really good driving a Mark 2 Cortina 1600E painted Starsky and Hutch red and white and with loads of tinsel on the dash
  3. Millet, just the man I'm looking for! I see you have a clulight jobby. Simple question, are they any good? I'm after a decent lamp that'll drop into a coat pocket. I really like the secondary bulb on them as well for gates/ditches etc. Sorry to highjack the thread but just looking for a quick answer....
  4. Troter, how does that compare to other lamps in terms of it's beam? What sort of distance will the beam reach clearly being able to make out a rabbit for instance? Malt, my first choice would have been the little 140 lance but when I looked at the dimensions it aint that little, lol. Really wanted something that could be kept under my jacket or in a biggish pocket. Could possibly just stick it in a carrier bag and pretend it's a big shit bag?
  5. I'm after a lamp that will fit in a coat pocket but still give a decent enough beam for rabbiting with the dog. Sometimes I'll just go to local permissions just for a few runs and I think it pays to have a little discretion when mooching through built up areas at night with a lurcher. I considered the lightforce/deben 140 but it's still looks a bit big to drop in a pocket. Been looking at the clulight Lazerlight 12V 1Mcp and 6V 1/2Mcp. Anyone got any experience of these? Can't find the size and just wondering if the 6V will be any good for the job? Thanks
  6. How many of you have referred to an Indian as a Paki? That's where a lot of the offence comes from with that particular word. Calling a Pakistani a Paki is as fair and logical as calling a Briton a Brit.
  7. were abouts is that lol  Dover mate, right by the cliffs, head off north east along the coast then take a sharp right. The bunnys know the score so pick a real dark night mate. Good luck!
  8. Been out with as many as four people and five dogs and bearly got a rabbit for each dog. I'm most often out alone and to be honest to get the best out of a dog I think that that is the way but nothing quite like going out with a good mate on a good patch of ground with a dog each. Last night was a bit of a misserable one but f**k me was there some game about.....
  9. Yes but the keeper doesn't know that till the end of the day unless the guns are saying after every drive that they are enjoy it. Keepers go on end of day bags, if they reach there target then there job has been done. If a keeper sees guns not shooting at birds theres nothing worse........and what someone thinks is not a sporting bird can be very different from another. Although this thread does make a nice change from the shoots i go too as its normally "head down" kind of stuff!!..... I'm not sure how that's justification for his behaviour Lab. A simple chat with the guns after a drive
  10. I think the keeper needs to give his head a good shake. It's a bit of a shitter when you are seeing good birds pass the line without even a single shot but there's nothing worse than seeing low birds pillowcased. There are a few different types of gun ranging from "only the very finest of birds" to "if it's got a pulse, shoot it". So what one man considers sporting another may not. But ffs if the guns are happy then surely it's not a bad day at the office?
  11. Didn't there used to be a fella on this site Ned Makim or something similar in Australia that seemed well clued up on hog doggin? It seems the Yanks, Aussies and Europeons all have different ways of dogging boar/hogs but the Aussies seem to strive for dogs that do all rather than speacialist finders and catchers.
  12. Matt, cut the nice chunky loins off and fry like a bit of steak! Don't over do it. Slice them up diagonally (that's the posh way, lol) then serve up with ya best mash and veg........ Ah feck me, I need to kill a hare now! Don't seem to be many about at all this year. I have always slow cooked the rest of the hare but not a patch on the loins fryed medium rare.
  13. And as it happens there are '10000s' of wild lions..........
  14. I think the same about rabbits, the most beautifull of gods creatures. Maybe we should ask Ian to set up an anti lion & rabbit shooting section? well if there 10000's of the feckers like your (beautifull rabbit) well yes, but like most other animals on this planet , they aint that many big cats about . This aint about control, its about (MONEY) Bird I'm not getting into an argument over this. None of us on here hunt because we feel a burning need to help the farmers control rabbits do we, it's for the love of hunting. I suppose it's wrong to hunt rabbits purely
  15. No offence mate but that dog is 28tts and is way heavier than any 1st x collie/grey I've ever seen. No offence taken. I was refering more to the dogs build than height, there are some very heavy 1st cross collie greys out there. Doesn't matter a shite what we think anyway.
  16. Looking at the picture again, the dogs not much heavier than a first cross collie grey! By the time the dog has fully matured at 18month and in hard condition his conformation will show through better and probably look a different animal. If nothing else he looks robust!
  17. Strangely I kinda like the non discript mongrely looking dogs like that, not what I would keep but kinda looks like the multipurpose sled dogs in Alaska. Doesn't look like a lurcher but if he can work the lamp like one then that's fecking great. Based on looks and looks alone that dog isn't ever gonna make a point a slip day dog but for lamping I imagine it may well be handy. I prefer a lurcher to have a fair bit of pace.

  19. Not sure what money the lotus exige is fetching but as a quickish fun sports car that's the first thing I would be looking at. Bit more money for a fast everyday motor...... I dream about the RS5.
  20. 75kph obviously, because 75mph would be illegal......
  21. It is conveinience to not have to worry about a dog being a c**t while eating. Sometimes the dogs get big bones that would take hours to finish but I don't want them on it for 2-3 hours, I want to be able to take them off of the dogs with no issues. It's no big time consuming thing to sort out is it and probably save you aggro in the long run with having to feck about with a dodgey dog. But essentially, deep down I would'nt like or trust a dog that is supposed to be my companion that turned on me because I took food off of it. Like I said before, if it's okay for my dog to gaurd it's f
  22. Fair enough Jiggy, I personally would rather just check my dogs with regards to it and sort out anything that may occur. It's trivial enough. If I ever had a dog that would'nt come right then I very much doubt I would tollerate it for very long but I also doubt that would ever happen. And If I thought that by sorting an aggressive dog out was mentally breaking it I would have a serious sit down and head scratch. I don't see what the big deal is personally, when it comes to dogs it's like everyone is on some sort of crusade with their methods of dog handling. I've made plenty of f**k ups so
  23. Ya can put the tin foil away walshie, you'll get everyone excited. They would enforce it with those reg recognition cameras already on motorways. The same ones they use to catch poachers entering Lincolnshire, lol.
  24. The west is dependant on it, without it everything would roll to a halt. I just don't believe the governments of this world are doing enough because they are using the worlds dependance on it like a dealer would a with addicted drug user so the whole "we're green!" attitude doesn't wash with me. And just to clarify, I'm no eco warrior either. saving the planet has no bearing on my choice of car.
  25. So are people that use motorways suddenly gonna have to pay more or are those that don't suddenly gonna get a reduction? I suspect the former. What about people that only use motorways half a dozen times a year for a long run north or south? Will we have to buy a day pass? LOL. What if, like I have many times, you get fecking lost and take a wrong turning off of a roundabout and end up on a motorway slip road without the higher tax? Don't we already pay silly crazy tax on fuel.... f**k off road tax and let fuel duty cover all motoring related expenses..... the more miles you do or bigger gas g
