    It's funny mate, i've watched one of my jills cross a field like a beagle on the scent of a rabbbit that was missed and ran off, funny little creatures. Also seen one try to climb a tree for the rabbits hung in it. Aye mate, around here you could not ferret without a dog, it would do your head in, plenty of holes, but many of them well used but empty, with the rabbits lying up above ground. You need the dog to push them under and find them to ground. Wouldnt go out without one now to be honest. When i was a kid (and not allowed to borrow the old mans dogs) i used to use a ferret to

    interesting stuff,iv often watched them follow a line but presumed they just walking the run usualy used by the rabbit kind of a natural highway so to speak as you say a good dog is the key to prevent time wasting,think we all netted up holes over the years,without a decent marking dog on hand, that look well used only to find nothing at home

    do ferrets really have the capability of knowing there is nothing at home just from turning round in the hole and coming straight out,not saying your wrong genuine question,i know they got superb senses etc but iv often wondered about this

    one thing in particular for me was watching the bird altering its position around the trees you can see the fact its actualy working in unison with the ferret,if that makes sense ,we thought we might have to dig at one stage,i only hit the dirt with the shovel couple times and the bird was down looking over my shoulder but the ferret moved on and we had a bolt but as i said was pretty special to actualy witness the whole thing,and yes certainly was a privelage

    iv fecked up loads of batteries over the years using the wrong chargers,car auto shop put me in the know with a particular charger specificaly for these batteries never had a problem with them since

    been trying to get out for a long time now to see a mate fly his female harris and today the opportunity came along. the harris is 3 year old and he flies her at 2ib 2 1/2oz so with tele kit on,collars on ferrets checked we set off. the bird was released immediately and flew up to the nearest tree then just followed on as we went. iv allways thought of the bird needing a good flat field with bunny bolting across it for the chance of a kill so when we got to a small wood line with a barbed wire fence running through it and the ground carpeted with nettles i was thinking how would she catc

    That only tells you what it looks like there and then.If the moon is out and the forecast says the cloud and wind is about to disappear you might want to think about travelling 20/30 miles and being lit up like a football pitch. if you relied on perfect lamping weather you hardly get out at all,once im comitted to going then thats it im going no matter what,cant understand lads getting the arse it aint rocket science is it,fecking internet will be the death of us all
