  1. all the ones i have come across mate,on here to download are pretty shit to be honest, even the ones people have put links up for,are shite, someone might put a good one up and prove me wrong though
  2. nice dog mate cheers, same dam as the one you had, hope thats not a bad omen lol, sire was cyril
  3. they say both open because you only point a shotgun at the target, not aim as you would with a rifle, both open gives you better idea for judging the distance of a moving target taking into consideration that the gun fits you properly,i also tend to squint my left eye(right handed)when i shoot and it works for me,if your hitting them mate, well enough said, jmo
  4. iv got one,she 3/4 grey 1/8 border 1/8 beardie only six months old but already she very willing to please, broken to ferrets, retrieves for fun,to be honest probably the most laid back dog iv ever had, nothing seems to faze her,ok thats not going to make up my mind weather she turns out a good dog or not,but im hopeing she will be the all-rounder im looking for,and roll on the new season, cant wait to get her out on the lamp later in the year
  5. each to their own mate,i only ever use jills, nice and small to slip through the nets when exiting the holes, seen a few lads use hobs but they were far to big for the job and we spent the day re-setting the nets when they had exited the warren, total pain in the arse, and the locater and spade were on overtime with the amount kills they made, although obviously you can get small hobbs that will do the job. as for spaying, ill leave that to someone else, very conflicting prices from vets whos only intention in my eyes is to keep their licence to print money, atb rob
  6. im going mate,if it was anything like the one i went to few years ago should be a good one
  7. me and a mate want go saturday, camp for the night and go home sunday afternoon, can anyone tell me how much this will cost please, didnt manage to pre-book,and as never stayed over at a show before thought we give it a go for a change, thanks
  8. makes your set up worth about £2000 IMO MATE
  9. crayfish traps on e-bay mate, either the plastic or the mesh ones, cheap as chips lol,as for bait, they put salmon heads in them on my local carp lake and they catch plenty
  10. totally agree, nice looking dog though
  11. my local gun shop has a second hand section mate, picked up an old 410 for £60 for my lad,got some 12g in there for as little as £100,just check for pitting in the barrels and make sure its got a tight action and you wont go far wrong for a starter gun,so look up your local dealers. once you become an established shot then you can start looking for something bit more expensive, just to add,gun fit is very important as well jmo
  12. I give mine rabbit all the time mate. I gut um and then freeze um for 6 weeks to kill of any tapeworm cysts/eggs. They fit in the freezer better if you cut um in half. Once defrosted you can feed raw as i do ir cooked. If your going to cook um, let um cool down 1st but honestly there much much much better raw. would never advise anyone to feed COOKED,bones will splinter and could cause serious damage to your dog,RAW is the only way mate,
  13. the gun should match the man as far as possible,a small man should obviously not have a gun with extra long barrels, they will easily pick up snow and mud and he will find them unwieldy, conversely a large man should not have a gun with short barrels, they will tend to look and feel un-balanced
  14. after one myself mate, check out your local dealers, seem a good rate round here for a days hire
  15. no i dont expect a repeal, but i will continue to hunt with my dogs regardless, been doing it long enough now and the current law has made no impact on what i do what so ever, well maybe i go out a bit later for my lamping trips, but thats it,i can live with that
  16. most who keep dogs will say that they find them more loyal, its each to their own i feel,i should not judge dogs on one bad experiance, but there you go ,my bitches are kenneled so,mopping up blood as you put it is never an issue,as for laying them off during their season, never have, ok they might loose their spark for a while and people will say you should not run them in season but i still do a couple nights a week with them without any problems
  17. only ever had one male, nothing but a pain in the arse, nothing but a winger,if it ever got knocked up you new about it,hated being kenneled and basically put me off ever having one again, have run bitches for the last 16 years and would never go back, although a lot do swear by dogs, each to their own mate, but bitches seem to suit me, this is not general in anyway just my own personnel experience
  18. dont know how good they are mate, but know few lads use the FOX digital scales they cost about £,seem quite popular
  19. had the same problem mate so i creosoted all the wood, stopped straight away,
  20. use peanut butter mate, they seem to go mad for it
