  1. As was mentioned in the recent TV prog on C5 this is to confuse dog owners, if it was decent meat they would be the first to put this on the bag. If a dog food company was honest and put on the bag. The Chicken used in this product came from Chicken feet, beaks, guts etc would it help sell their product? All those who love their completes, the ones that are always mentioned on this forum, email them and ask what part of the Animal is used in their product. I am not anti complete I use one myself as a mixer along with raw meat.but to put on a product Meat and Animal derivatives which tells
  2. Unless the rabbit goes through the fence onto ground where a catch can be made, but most will hit a bury, the Whippet X Beddy bitch i had, usually found a way, but would not jump the square mesh with wire on top, I usualy take a single ferret and a few nets in my pocket when just out for a mooch, and my dogs will usually pick up the scent and take me to the bury. I have seen a few bad tears in the past with dogs having to go to the Vet, not worth it for a rabbit.
  3. Regarding running out a traditional and gathering up, try and find someone in your area that is good at it, and let them show you, you can run out on school playing fields, during daylight, you will soon see how to do it, and can then go on to practise on your own.
  4. I would use an outcross if you can find a good worker not easy,I started ferreting 45 years ago, and in my opinion there were a lot better workers around then. I knew nobody who kept them as pets, all were workers, and any kits I brought in, I had no problems with. You didn't have to worry about keeping a line, as you could pick up good working stock easily. not now, if you have a good working strain, you need to keep hold of it. good luck with your breeding policy.
  5. Correct Cochin Kerala South India. don't know how long they will last, they are a big tourist attraction. but I was told they are just not catching a good amount anymore and there are more efficient methods for the fishermen to use.
  6. My pup at 11 months and being a 3/4 Whippet 1/4 Bedlington is not a big dog, is on 1lb raw Beef three good handfuls of a good 20% protein complete, with raw veg daily, fish once a week. Porridge for breakfast. 250g is 9oz of meat a week when the pup should be on one 1lb or if you prefer 450g per day.
  7. This method the Netsman spun round and round really fast then firing the net, its used in the shallows of the Sea to catch small fish Anchovies.
  8. this old Guy was really interesting, he had a hand made Crossbow, and a long barbed arrow, he reminded me of a human Heron, he would stand not moving a muscle, for about 5 mins then fire the Bow, the water was not clear, ive no idea how he saw them, he caught about 4 fish in half an hour, same size as the last photograph.
  9. <a href="http://s1231.photobucket.com/user/dumfries002/media/082_zps86170cf8.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee509/dumfries002/th_082_zps86170cf8.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 082_zps86170cf8.jpg" style=""></a>
  10. this Man was fishing fresh water he had his net on two pins just like a tradional long net, he placed a peg in the wall, then ran the net out on an ark placing the other pin in the wall also, he then swam up and down inside the net, forcing the frightened fish into the net. when finished he gathered up as you would a rabbit long net.
  11. the net enters the sea like a big envelope, and they have it in the water for 5 mins then it swings up, with the fish sliding down into a poke, and a Lad nets them out using a small net, they only seem to catch small fish about 6 at a time, and only catch on average every third try.
  12. These are called Chinese fishing nets brought to India hundreds of years ago by the Chinese, They are worked on a cantilever system, with weights that balance it out are big boulders, it takes 4 men to work them.
  13. Ratted a few times when I had my Whippet X Bedlington, she was a Rabbiting dog with 4 Seasons under her belt before she was introduced to Rats, and it did make her hard mouthed.
  14. Gods country, good photos, Happy Hunting.
