Was out on wednesday night lamping and Bruce had a couple of quite hard runs, on the first run as the quarry and him reached a wire fence, barbed on the top, you could hear that there was quite heavy contact, on his return you could see he had obviously had quite a big tumble, as he was covered in mud, he showed no signs of being lame and no signs of any cuts off the wire, he then later had another good run which saw him over a large ditch, again upon return no apparent problems, it was only after he had had time to rest that when we got up he was limping on his front left leg. it'll be one of those things! pre ban my dog would always grab them by the arse end!!! used to do my head in cos it caused damage to that leg! but if he got hold, like you say he'd never let go!!! my mates dog took a kick in the face off one, but its the only time i've known it, probably just bad timing, she kept hold though!!!!!!!!

All seems sensible advice, i had a dog that entered himself, pre ban of course, and when he had his chance he was 3 years old, done absolutely fine!!!! my mates dog was entered the same night to fox, but his was just under 18 months old and she took the same punishment and did the exact same job too, different breeding but entered no sweat, in fact truth be known, his bitch was far more aggressive than my boy!!!

I'm with more than too, easy to sort on the phone, 10% off first dog, 20% second, £19.50 for a lurcher and springer per month, £7000 for each new claim, £3 million liability crap, but a nice little touch i thought was a 24 hour phone number direct to a vets, a bit like nhs direct, just for advice, petplan were quoting me over £50 for the same cover!!!

apart from the shit conditions, managed to get 4 out of 6 runs, only went in 3 fields, but they were packed...... ....... had a look into the surrounding fields and they all look promising, so with better conditions, should easy hit double figures......

what was his reasoning for calling it thick? mine sometimes seem thick as f**k, but i dont want them to do tricks, i want them to hunt and thats what they do, its the best part of working dogs, seeing them learn the trade and develop, watching the mistakes and seeing them learn from the misses and run the next one differently to adjust..........

If it has a favourite toy, tie it on a piece of string and get it chasing it round while you've got the lamp on it, in the dark obviously, once it seems to be looking at the beam and finding its 'reward', chuck the toy out and put the lamp on it and send the dog on its way, whatever you do mate you're gonna miss a load, untill its ran a few....good luck mate, and like people have said before, wait untill its a bit older......

In real simple terms, you cant intentionally hunt anything with dogs legally, except rabbits and rats......... cos obviously rabbits and rats dont have any value of life........
