  1. got a 12v 20amp get about 2-3 5 hour sessions out of it with lightforce lamps was bit heavy at first but i got use to it Know exactly where you're coming from, i've strapped mine to a weightlifting belt so its got a bit more support, but after a few hours of walking, you can feel it on the hips, i'd imagine the 20 is about the same weight as the double, i hope!!!!
  2. Who went with you? they should've advised you if you're only a youngun and told the guys to f**k off!!!
  3. Both my lurchers have deerhound in and look completely different, one has the deerhoundy look and the other has taken more of the other looks in his make up, the one who has deer on both sides looks least like one but took the really late maturing side, but both are spot on on what they do the biggest takes rabbits with relative ease and he's 28 ins ATS pre ban, he used to make up on big stuff no probs, will try and get a picture up of them both so you can see the difference. have a chat with doxhope, he's prob forgotten more about deerhounds than most know!!!
  4. We're looking for a decent 4X4 electric cart with a good sized basket on the front!!!
  5. sometimes i wish i drove the fields as my hunting partner sometimes needs a piggy back on the way back to the car, mentioning no names CHARTPOLSKI!!!!!
  6. yep, i'm getting a 20 amp one, i've got the 14 amp double belt pack at the min, it lasts alright, but if you're doing alot it sharp dies!!! gonna just get a second lamp so i can swap em half way round!!!
  7. i've redone mine a couple of times, chartpolski done it the last time so the lamps permanantly plugged in and you just plug the charger on, then its strapped down really tight with electrical tape so nowt can move, never had any bother with it all this season!!! just wish the batteries would last a bit longer!!!!
  8. i've had a clulite and liked it, but just found the beam dont go as tight as the striker and if you have something that might run instead of going down a hole then it can run out the beam quite quick!!! But i do miss having the little side light on the clulite!!!
  9. keep calm firstly, i'd remove the toy/dummy whatever it is you're using and remove it each time it starts to rag or shake it, make sure you aint getting into the tug of war situation and then when you can give praise when its holding it without the silliness and not be in too much of a rush to rip it out the dogs mouth, aint read the first part of your help post so you may have already done this!!!!
  10. I've got a few here just for spaniels, the rytex ones basic and advanced, the adult working one of the masterclass editions and another one of some other bloke. all very informative, welcome to the hard work, pm me your details and i'll sort some copies for you.
  11. My misses is a mental health nurse and they are apparently screaming out for them there, had a few mates go and work out there doing this job, will hopefully leave me free for more hunting activities!!!!! will be going for a proper reccy of it all and get an idea of what areas to look at!!!!
  12. .......von's already asked if i'll take you!!!!!
  13. I wouldn't be getting rid just yet, my big brindle dog was rehomed as he was a complete winge and 'wouldn't' pull big game, he was ran doubled up at deer, on his own at deer and never wanted to know!!! This dog was always very puppyish and when the lad who had him, could no longer keep him, i decided i'd take him back and jsut keep him as a pet if need be, but in the week following his 3rd birthday everything just clicked, and he's now pulling stuff without probs and looks like he's been doing it all his life!!!! Most likely a late maturing dog for me, hopefully it'll be the same for you too!!
  14. this may be a thick question, what is ment by swap W.H.Y?.......

  19. Nice pics, but it looks pretty cold there It wasn't cold after 3 hours of digging about!!!! I nearly ripped her out by the ankle when she said she could see it.......
  20. the law actually classes a cat as feral whenever it leaves its owners property, so basically unless you're intentionally going out of your way to kill them, its unlikely you'll be prosecuted!!
  21. My old bitch killed a cat whilst out on a walk, then posters came through the door asking if people had seen tiddles or whatever its name was, one thing led to another and the owners got wind it was my dogs, anyway to cut a long story short, the fuzz were called and basically just advised to keep the dogs on a lead if i knew there was a risk of cats being about, but they stated they couldn't prosecute for it, unless i had specifically gone out of my way to kill it!!!
