I haven't thought you a thing. Yes your full barrel. How do you get on with it? Aye mate, im catching with it,..(takes a bit longer, than the duffus,...but , im a slow fecker, anyway ? lol),...that particular ones, got a 'good strong spring', & catches the mole, in the right place ? (mostly),....the 'pressure' would be on (
  5. ha ha ha,....what you like ?,...(& after me being at it, 21 year, now !, i knew id learn something off you ! ),.......what, that 'wooden full barrel, trap' ?,...i only got one ,.....(my , pride & joy, that ,....lol)
  6. lol,.....don't give the 'newbies', any ideas , mate !,....(its bad enough, sometimes, when they show, 'how many theyve caught ?', like ,...& then 'thaw out' the rest ?,..too swell the amount, for a photo ,...for a 'well done',... 'pat on the back', ...type thing ?) ha ha ha,.........(only joking, now,...) Taxidermist, said 'poly bag' in the freezer, but then take it out, for posting ?,....& write on the box 'urgent perishable goods' ? (when i caught & sent, a 'yellow coloured' one , once)
  7. lol,.....don't give the 'newbies', any ideas , mate !,....(its bad enough, sometimes, when they show, 'how many theyve caught ?', like ,...& then 'thaw out' the rest ?,..too swell the amount, for a photo ,...for a 'well done',... 8. "Not freezing them, are we ",...how'd you guess ? lol (it was out a garden, woman, didnt want it,..i just slung the trap, in the bucket,..),.....wouldn't mind getting, a 'funny coloured' one again ?,....now , that will be getting 'bunged' , in the freezer, thats for sure ! lol
  9. Well, theres one or two, on here,..who moan, theres too many 'mole catching' topics ?,....as if the 'mole men' shouldnt 'post' as much, or something ? lol (wont apply too this 'mole catcher', thats for sure !)
  10. Here's my mole trap of choice, these days. The 'stainless steel', half-barrel,...
  11. I agree with you,....even heard some mole catchers complaining, about how EASY those putanges, where too set, that customers / householders, were readily having a go themselves, with them ? (with success, been witnessed),...so its going to come back at them & "bite them on the behind", ...sort of thing ? (i dont know though)
  12. Aye, like the daft decision, to allow the use of, those 'burrow blasting' devices ! ffs
  13. They have tried others, though. They tested, 'arsenic' (unsuitable),..but they thought 'aldicarb', might be more promising ? (never came to anything) It seems that 'alphachloralose' IS approved, for 'mole control in France !' (not too effective, apparently)
  14. Thats the thing, since we are leaving the EU, it might be different ?,... The relevant dept, at the EU Commission, had the final say, on the outcome of 'Strychnine use for moles', in the UK. Cause its withdrawal was 'appealed',(when it was unsupported, for new 'approval') & asked to be retained, under 'essential use', status ?,...arguments were 'submitted', but thankfully, they werent convinced, and refused,.....
  15. "There's a lot of mole trappers out there but not many good ones ",....well, i wondered if thats what he was getting at ?
  16. "There are in my opinion still far too few moleys to cope with the work out there.",....Well, thats an interesting statement ? (& surprised me, a bit,to be honest lol),......unless, you dont 'rate' , the ones that are out there, nowadays ? (cause theres loads ! as if you didnt know ?, cmon,..lol),.....In fact , i would go as far as too say, there are enough, mole catchers, now ! (& an awful lot seem 'capable', & are learning fast ?,.....& no wonder ?)
  17. Just watched this, & i must say, another good informative film, for fans of these traps ? Hes also very generous, as far as 'disclosing' what hes learned, about 'mole habits'. But, its nothing 'new' for those of us,who have been at it, a good while ? Maybe, if i was in France, & had the scope he has there, & little in the way, of competition, (it seems ?),.....i would want too 'blab' on , about everything i know, in order to help any 'fellow countrymen', back home, with less experience,.......(but then again, i doubt it ! ha ha),....he maybe deserves some praise though, for tryi
  18. They seem too work well, them traps,......( & that first wee film he made, was good),.....but, ive never felt the need to try them, myself,........
  19. Sorry for the delayed response. Just the regular ones. A bit of tinkering out of the box and they are good to go. If you get some let me know and I can talk you through the tinkering if you want to make them a bit more efficient. Thanks Hutch6 very kind of you, I've just bought some, what is it you do to them? Thanks again Bury them in 'soil', for three months, then immerse them in a 'bucket full of worms', for a week ?,.....(you wont miss a mole, with them, after that !) lol
  20. "are we on the endangered list with out our quarry" ?,...well, i see the concern,.....its worrying ?,....seen a report (earlier in the year), about a study carried out. The researchers reckon, there could be less than a million rabbits left, in Scotland,....as a result of RHVD (1&2) ? Dont know how accurate this is ?,..but ive heard rumours, 'numbers' are well down, on some of the 'strongholds', up North (Scotland)
  21. I quite like, the 'stainless', ones, too,...............
