    I agree! Collie crosses arn't my type for lamping or coursing to much herding,picking runs etc.Although find them great ferreting dogs!

    My bitch lost 1 of her stoppers in her first season.Take ages to heal & no protection to the tendons & ligaments.So i started using the leather stop pad protectors,it took no time at all for her to get used to it.She's 5 now & its stopped alot of soreness & career ending injuries so i highly recommend them. Atb.

    Thanks guys.Of course i won't fire it to close to her.She has heard fireworks at distance on a regular basis since i got her at 3 months & she doesn't bat an eye lid.So if i fire it at distance while the misses does a few retrieves with her to see her reaction that should be fine?

    I've just had a message saying 1 of the dogs stolen was battered to death with a hammer & a women was tazered so her 2 rotties could be taken that happened 2 pm today!

    Went out with a mate today with the ferrets and whippet cross.Slow to start as the mixy has hit the rabbits hard on my permission.Thank god she's a good marker as loads of buries but not many rabbits at home.Ferrets bolted 2 we netted 1 the other came out of abolt hole concealed by leaf litter.The whippet cross would have had it if it wasn't for the poxy sheep netting fence .Went to a another bit of permission but the landowner told me that had been hit hard with mixy aswell but said we could give it a go.Bolted 5 missed 1.     sal/grey cross deer/grey. sal/grey cross bull/grey. sal/grey cross wheaton/grey. Think any of these crosses if bred from proven stuff should do the job on a regular bases.

    Fair point.I had a couple years back now,good dogs but alot of draw backs most mentioned above.I have 1 now with atouch of bull in it,she's a great little bitch but i only use her for ferreting as i think there better suited to ferreting than lamping.Not saying they can't lamp just think there better suited to the ferreting game.Horses for courses.
