i second that ferrets dont handle hot weather well thay dehydrate and suffer heat stroke and can quickly die from this extra care shuld be taken in the hotter weather iv bin putting a frozen bott of water in evry time its worm i got a big fright not long ago i opend the hutch to feed my 2 new kits 1 was on its back outsied the bedding area the other was curled up asleep in the bedding area that 1 seemed normal and playful when i woke it the 1 on its back was very worm i picked her up she was flopy i cooled her down and she was back to her normal self in about 5 min lol she sat on my sholder no

not far pal , and am interested, i do a pig farm at the moment, how much commitment does the owner want, when he moving the sheds, got the terriers and guns- will pm you Yea PM me, all the farmer want is someone to turn up once twice per fortnight really, but it need getting on top of as there is loads of the things. There are three sheds to shoot in and around , it's a fantastic set up really as it is non stop as you work from one shed to another. thanks for that tip snipe i will be doing that from now on .in responce to kay and the one. i think i may be feeding to much thay get a bole ferret food wich thay pik at but most of the time dont tuch thay love ther meet but still leev abit of what i feed and iv swoped the big hob and the kit about put the hob im looking after in hutch in the shed and the kits in the outdoor run its 4ft by 5ft and as a hutch in it was ther seconed nigth in ther thay seem ok

not long ago i red that ferrets dont show much signs of illness or infection early on ( its like thay just try and carry no with ther day ) so im gessing when a ferret looks unwell it cud be to late to help and any illness or infection cud verywell be in ther later stage"s

ok thanks lads. by grabing them i meen picking them up without hesertayshion so thay dont think im playing with them and thay dont get a chance to nip. when i cleen them out i put them in the ferret box av dun since i got the kits. iv allso bin putting em in the ferret box to take them to and from hutch to livingroom since i got them. at 1st thay wood stay on the sofa after a a week or so thay sterted to start explouring ther conferdenc is building up fast and ther all over the place rooting about now thay even seem to know when sumone is about to open livingroom door and ther at the door befo

the kits are doing well but ther biet is getting harder i get them out 2 or 3 times a day handle them as much as i can when ther runing about the livingroom evry time 1 of the kits cum close i grab it and holed it for a minit or so sumtimes thay will be at back of the tv or sumthing els i just stick my hand in and grab them as this will get them uset to being picked up thay are still a bit skitish and will run for cuver if thers a loud noise allso thay will try and fight my hand alot and role on ther backs and biet as i go to pick them up i just pick em up and if thay nip giv em a flik on th

its not nice to heir about people getting rid of ther old ferrets [bANNED TEXT] ther in ther prim to be replaced by kits just cos people dont no much about ferrets [bANNED TEXT] thay get them and dont trane them proply go out and reed sum books on what ever pet your geting so that you no how to look after handle and trane them propperly vi keep ferrets before my 1st one was a vishus ferral jill i founed as a kid she had 15 kits i keep the jill and 8 kits got rid of the rest it was bye 1 get 1 free evry thing i no about ferrets i got from books

i like to became a pest controller bin trying to get work with no luck but if i cud mate id go ferreting all year last time i went out 2 or 3 week back was a hot day the ferrets seemed to work abit slower but stil the hob did good he bolted rabs left right and center lol

my bro got tow hobs end of last year im not shur of ther age but i think ther 2 both big hobs 1 bit bigger but both werk very diff the bigger hob werks slower and wil not stay down long if the rabbits are not home but the other hob is alot faster and will pop its head out of evry neted hole and backs off back down the hole he will stay down in til he fineds a un-neted hole or i take up the nets he wont pass the nets but the bigger hob wil slip past the nets in and out holes
