  1. nice looking dog mate love his massive head!!! have you started him on rats/rabbits etc yet?
  2. IMO a fox in its earth is hard enough quarry for any dog to work. a bushed and coursed fois a different matter. steezy; i dont know quite where you get your bullshit ideas of badgers being anything like easy to dig. badgers have big, pointy claws, big, pointy teeth and in my experience are much more aggresive than fox.
  3. well done mate gorgeous dog. nice to see some different hunting styles/quarry.
  4. great pics and day out by the looks of it mate . i'd blur the date if i was you though mate - this being a public forum and all
  5. good man mate - i have relatives in s.ireland, ill tell the folks im stayin with then and offski to yours eh?! :11: :11: im sure you would show me a good time mate dog in my avvy is a "bull" pm if you want details on it mate
  6. great pics mate really like those dogs. do they get injured much? how often do you go out? thanks again for the great pics
  7. Cracking dogs - It looks like theyve done really well too. I wish there were more relaxed attitudes to hunting in the uk. Its a joke over here. Im envious of you. jon same here mate. satevemac, have you got any pics of your ridgebacks hunting?
  8. hey whats wrong with being 15?! i dont mind - im almost 16 :11: :11: see your poin though ds, i was just making mine - someone needs to take me out for a big cigar!!!
  9. most good lurchers will do it - collie/grey whippet/beddy etc. to be honest i dont think you need a catch dog for bunnies :11:
  10. too big IMO and not hard enough and their skin is far too thin. just my opinion :11:
  11. which one in the pic are you mate? right or left :11: great pics by the way - massive looking fox!
  12. either you're very small, or that hole is very big :11:
  13. was it from wroking lines? IMO you need to keep they're coats fairly short (not too short, else they can get too cold) Why not go for a beagle if all you want to do is bush? great hare coursing dogs as well.
  14. what do you work them on in italy?
  15. great looking dogs you got any more pics? i would love to own one, doubt i will for a couple of years though do you breed yourself?
  16. its a scenthound, bigger than a beagle, usually 19"-21" mate. hunt hare, fox, bush for bunnies...
  17. why not a beagle or a harrier? give tongue, very sociable dogs IMO the best bushing dogs around. lad on here works them.
  18. great place moll loads of good work done there. so when's the new dog coming?
  19. if hes got the speed then maybe a 3/4 bred grey/bull? a good 1 mind
  20. what do you want it to do? lab sould do you. if its mainly beating, id try to get a good steady springer - lol a contradiction in terms!!!
  21. do you find them lacking in prey-drive? how are they to train? lol sorry for all the questions, but im just interested! you guys have probably got different dogs to what there is over here. there is a guy on here with a ridgeback, leeroy i think his name is. he says his dog couldnt keep up with a fox. probably just different stock.
  22. just dont get caught! IMO they are fair game - and good to hunt!
  23. great pics mate looks a good day out! always loved foxhounds - how are they as pets and with your other dogs?
  24. thanks for the reply stevemac i was at one point considering getting a ridgeback, but they aren't really suited to hunting in england. how do you find them doubled up? do they find and bail, or find and hold? how are they speedwise and on foxes?
  25. has anyone else found that alot of hunters even when not working their dogs etc are unapproachable? the reason im wondering is because there is a couple who live in my village, who own a two very useful looking lurchers and i know they're worked. BUT everytime i walk past with my dog and smile and say hi, they grunt in my general direction and carry on walking. maybe they're just antisocial assholes!! :11: :11: anyone on here?
