  10. If it's that bad have a career change, I bet you don't though cos it's better than a helluva lot of jobs out there, most in fact. You have experience of teaching then? Do you have experience of the private sector ?????? I surely do I have worked in both you didn't answer my question Actually mate I do...... in the school of life. No pension, no holidays and longer hours than 8 - 530 not that I see many teachers doing any of those hours too often
  11. I just want to say that teachers such as you've described are few and far between these days. I've had such a negative experience with my kids' primary school, I confess I feel rather jaded. Good teaching should be fully supported and encouraged - but instead bad teaching is protected and perpetuated. Red tape and ridiculous health and safety laws don't help either. And imo the holiday system is barking mad and needs to be revamped. There is NO reason at all for that amount of holidays. If it were reduced to the six weeks in summer with one or two term breaks during the year that would make mo
  12. As per the other posts advice Katie and quick, Jills can die if left in season !
  13. Ric, in all honesty either a chinaman or a robot ! I wouldnt want to be a working (peasant) class chinaman would you ? Sadly (& I do deplore them) number crunchers fatassed or othewise are vital in todays business environment.

  15. Thats what the tory papers want you to think....the Politicians are spouting the same rubbish about its affecting the children and people who want to work....strange stance to take when they've consigned thousands of kids to the dole and ruined communities. The tory dogma is purely for the rich always has been always will be, wolf in sheeps clothing. Have you noticed the fallback position is its labours fault we have no choice...its bullshit if they fixed the tax laws there would be no national debt. How can it be right that multi billionaire/millionaires pay less tax than the average jo
  16. It could be worse you could be getting shot at !
  17. get a grip. if you dont know what you're signing up for dont sign up then whinge about it ! This argument is about the private sector whose T&Cs were depleted YEARS ago (remember Maxwell plundering the mirror pension)having to pay for the public sector. Have MANY teachers ever had a job in between education and becoming a teacher, nice little closed loop paid for by the tax payer.
  18. Seriously, fruit licquers are a piece of cake to make. You can use virtually any fruit to do it. 1. Fruit (or fruitflowers) up to a third high in the bottle/dj/container. 2. Sugar to halfway (it'll drop through the fruit later on) 3. Add some spices if need be (never more than 1tsp of each spice per bottle) 4. Add the spirit of your choice to fill the container/bottle. Lid it. 5. Turn every day for 2-3m. 6. Strain fruit and keep the juice. (You can use the fruit then for cakes or sauces) We did 5 licquers last year (as well as ten types of wine): cherry brandy, elderflower vodka,

  21. It must be contagious !!!!!! One of my jills just bit me on the chin !! tried to dunk her in a bucket of water but 1/2 drowned meself......... only kiddin Kay (about the bucket, not the bite)
  22. Bit drastic Kay! Quickest way to get a ferret off is to put your hand around it's neck, lift your thumb over the back of it's head and on to it's forehead with the tip of your thumb level with it's eyes. Grasp and pull back with your thumb. This puts pressure on the mandibular nerve system, which leaves the ferret with no option but to open it's mouth. The ferret suffers no stress and no damage. Once you have worked out how to do this, it's fast, easy and 100% effective. John Thats far better than 1/2 drowning it. Kay, I hope you were joking !!!!!!!!
  23. Are you not going then wirral countryman ?
