  9. Aye nice beasties, that terrain looks familiar, very much like above Catcluegh near the Carter Bar Maybe not.. Was up there earlier, found quite a few dead roe after the bad weather lying huddled up in shallow gullies
  10. Cant put a Nikon tc on that lense mate, and pointless putting any other make on it either. Low light photography can be so enoying, at 300mm with that lense it could mean down to shutter speeds of 30, which is impossible to hand hold without the pics being blurred. Busy checking you exif data to see whats up..Hope your not shooting in P.. Ive got the same lense, although I dont use it much now, but I have got some really good shots from it in the past..
  11. If I needed a new dog in my kennels, this site is the last place I would be searching for one
  12. Yip, its all down to the gear, I use a Nikon 1.4 tc on a Nikkor 300mmf4 AFS, and the results are just as sharp as not useing the tc (well almost, not any noticeable difference outside of photoshop) This combo, produces better quality images than many prime lenses. Need fast glass though..f4 at least http://www.birdforum.net/showthread.php?t=106419
  13. All I can say is well done mate, Ive never even had an opportunity to point my lense in the direction of a kingfisher yet, not a lot where I live..
  14. Cheers for the comment, actually I did use a technique I was shown recently for sharpening..looked ok here and printed off at A3..but have asked for another opinion No McTut, pro opinion, certainly no over sharpening on the first 4, swallow facing on the fence, which was a massive crop, ammount of loss quality..
  15. Hi mate, and Snaps, the camera a Nikon D300, and a Nikkor 300mm f4 AFS lense..the exif data should be still on the pics, but the shutter speeds were quite low as the conditions were poor..much slower that I would have liked. At f4 I think most of the shots were between to 250,
  16. Kay, I was out a couple of hours, and took over 500 images, but when your blasting off at 8 frames per second they mount up, ha, ha.
