  16. i got an answer on the other thread from tiercel...... Polyester is hydophobic it repels water. To get the dye to take you need to open up the fibres of the yarn to allow the dye to penetrate the yarn. For the fibres to open up the yarn needs to reach a tempreture of 160C. The boiling point of water is 100C so other types of heat must be applied to allow the yarn to be dyed. It is the dying process that makes spunpolyester so expensive. White undyed is very cheap. makes sense .....atb....
  17. Think it's a dog thing mate, some do some dont. Never had one not chase a hare though. Maybe they know hares don't go down burries, maybe they love them more, maybe dogs are smarter than we give them credit for i had a lurcher x lurcher, and when he reached about 3yrs old, and when i used to try and get him to run rabbits on a fence line he would stand and growl at them, yet he would approach them on the lamp because he knew they would maybe hit the fence and he had a chance of catchin them, but on all bigger quarry,as you said it could be f****n miles away and he would be off like a rocket..
  18. its not just a collie thing ........i have a collie cross here that runs flat out at what ever quarry i tell it to.....yet i have seen other crosses stand and look and pick there runs
  19. the royal blue is what i am using just now ,i thought the temperature would be what it was....but some of the lighter stuff is course, would it take much heat to dye these do ye think?
