  1. Who or where is the pest place / person to get nets from? should i just make my own long nets from sheet netting or buy ready made long nets. Or are quick set nets the way forward they just cost a fortune thats all?
  2. Im wamting to get a couple of long nets prob 6oz & 50yard long. but not sure where to get them from or quite sure what type of net ie traditional long net v quick set. If i understand it correctly any long net can be turned into a quick set just by adding a basket and poles so that would deal with that question. I have picked 50yard nets cause they are prob easier to use then 100 yard, or would i be better with 4x 25 yard nets? where is the best/least expensive place to get them from? Never used long nets before alwayd used purse nets. Any help or advice would be great. Thanks
  3. Yes same here, ive taken 100's of rabbits with mine.
  4. Maybe they like to shave their nuts, i find it takes about 20 years off me
  5. Bolt action first of all, more accurate than a semi auto. then a CZ/Brno well made great value for money they will out shoot most shooters.
  6. Dont have the words to say how it made me feel.
  7. My mate has a brno mod 1 short screw cut barrel, 10 shot mag and i think hes selling it with a sak moderator and a scope. wants £150 ono
  8. Try and catch him with the lady next door and tell him you will tell your mum always better if you get photo's. This should do the trick
  9. got a moderator for one of my 22 rimfires today and was asked is it for an air rifle or a rimfire? I asked why and was told if its for a rimfire it needs to go on your fac but if its for an air rifle no paper work is required. Is this true? What if I want to upgrade a moderator for one of my rimfires but have no space on my fac. could i just say its for an air rifle then use it on my rimfire, then take the old moderator that i had on rimfire and say it is for use on my air rifle. Hope you understand what im getting at.
  10. I've got a biakal 410 hushpower and would never swap it. Me and my mate both have one and the only difference between our guns is mine has a wood stock and his has the plastic type. They are great for around live stock and built up areas, out of all the guns i have the 410 gets the most use. Great for shooting bolting rabbits over ferrets, the only wish I have with it is I would like the ability to have more than one shot.
  11. Must say Im a local and have attended in the past but the cost of entry does put me off, infact fair's in general are getting out of hand. Around £5 would be ok for what you get at Selby, Its not just the weather that can make it a good day for all! it feels shit to turn up to a fair or event to find that you can count everyone on one hand, Its the old saying the more the merrier. Some people aint got loads of spare cash to spare on things like this so like me rather than take the family along and spend around £45 on entry for the three I will go on my own and only spend around £15 for entry.
  12. Hi pop along to york local gun shop and have a chat with them explaining what you want, also you can have a hold of a few and see what feels good. If your in west yorkshire try Swillington shooting supplies at swillington Nr leeds.

  14. I live in north humberside and im looking for some where to go with my lab to teach her and me how to work her properly. Shes about eight months old and very keen, I take her ferreting and shooting and as soon as the gun goes off shes off trying and find what i have shot. Shes not a big lab but she retrives rabbits and had a go at phesants . Im not really sure if im doing things right so we could do with some lessons, im also trying to teach her and me to work to the whistle. Can anyone point me in the right direction please?
  15. Yea I looked at the 455 thumb hole nice looking and feeling gun, Some of my decision will be made on how much I can find one for. anyone have an idea who is the cheapest dealer to get one from? Im in north humberside.
  16. Happy Christmas to everyone Im thinking of getting myself a 17 hmr either new or s/h, not 100% sure on what make but have been looking at CZ. Seems to be more choice around in the new and s/h market with CZ and I have never heard anyone slag them off. But what model do I go for 452, 453 etc?, varmint or american ? I want bolt action, wood stock not plastic and threaded to take a moderator. I've been told that the varmint (heavy barrel) is more accurate than the american but the down side is the they are a bit heavier so a sling is a must when your out and about. I like th
  17. Thanks for replies, he seems ok now but was a bit shaken when it happened. will have another look at the bite tomorrow to try and see the spacing of the teath marks.
  18. Went out ferreting friday with friends, I put my hob down a hole on the hillside then went to enter my gill further up. When my friend shouted me saying your hob has been hurt, I went over and found my hob struggling to walk and he had a damp patch on the scruff of his neck. I had a closer look at his neck and I could see what looked like a small punchure mark on his neck. I gave him a check over them let him rest in his box for a while before I tried to work him again. Does anyone have any ideas what could have done this? Don't think it was a rat, but if I didn't know any better I would t
  19. I started doing the odd mole for the farmer as he let me shoot on his land, i was then asked if i could do a large garden around 10 miles from my home. Had no intention in charging for this, Anyway i put down some traps and went back a week later to check them. Got the mole and the land owner was over the moon, they asked me how much whereby i said nothing. Anyway they said they normaly pay £40 for what i did so they paid me the same. I have done this garden 3 times so far and they always pay £40. Im no expert watched a few DVD's on mole catching so i could help the farmer out and to clear my
  20. I just got my FAC and it's great! On open ground with no cover its a god send. Yes you do have to think a lot more about any shot you take to ensure its safe to do so, but if its not you dont take the shot or this is when your sub 12ft lb air rifle comes in. (a different tool for each job) I had a look at FAC air and the price was two or three times that of a rimfire and you were limited to the amount of shots you had before you needed more air. I picked up a cz/brno mod 2 in 22lr with a moderator, sling and swivels in great condition for £150 and it shoots far better than I could ever hope
  21. Brno / CZ 22LR is the better gun, got one myself and it far outshoots me. Loads about for not a lot of money .
