  1. Closed down mucker. Nearest place at a tidy price charge a delivery fee for under £35. That’s far too much for me to be able to store in my larder freezer.
  2. It is a bit for tripe. Cheers anyways
  3. Tripe’s the only thing I can’t get for a decent price locally
  4. Couldn’t believe I had never tried that method prior to last year. Was only in the kitchen at 15 minute intervals to turn the roast veg!
  5. It certainly would mate! For instance I’ve recently had a go with complete biscuits mixed in with mince, brown bread, oats, brown bread and weetabix for carbs in differing combos. Like a racing greyhounds diet. Did it for 2 months. Noticed a massive increase in energy/ eagerness, but his shit was like soft scoop ice cream all the time. Went back to raw, dogs calmer and his stamina and fitness didn’t dip at all. If anything he’s got more gas in the tank lately. He’s ready for a bit of weighted resistance in his hill sprints
  6. I’m not sure what to say really mate. I started my 8 week old pup off on whole chicken from Aldi for 2 weeks, then onto carcass, beef and offal. In the early days I gave the chicken a bash with a hammer to help him out, takes a few days until the craps become consistent when starting off.
  7. Sorry mate, still confused. Was it minced carcass or minced chicken breasts?
  8. 2 days of nothing but carcass will make any dogs shite like rocks. I do that if he’s had something rich that hasn’t agreed with him, 2 days of carcass then back to his normal grub. You to feed meat too, mine will have 550g for dinner. This comprises of 220g carcass, 300g beef and 30g liver with a bit of oil.
  9. For the first time last year I cooked the turkey, gammon, cider braised red cabbage and made the gravy on Christmas Eve. All I had to do was the veg on Christmas Day, piece of piss! Did the Turkey crown in one of those oven bags on a bed of leeks, wrapped the crown up in foil and a bath towel and it took all day to cool down. Was the juiciest turkey I’ve had yet. All the liquid and leeks left in the bag made a cracking gravy!
  10. Thank you mr Lloyd, take a bit of experimenting and making friends with butchers to get to that stage. That bowl of food cost no more than 20p
  11. I’ve gone back to feeding all raw after trying a racing greyhound style diet, dabbling with complete mixed in and carbs. My dog had soft shit the whole time. I use this site as a guide https://perfectlyrawsome.com/ This is a typical meal for my beddy whippet. He puts some shift in so needs quite a bit. Currently 550g in the evening. I prefer 20% bone in the diet, keeps things nice and firm. I also feel 10% organ meat is far too much, out of the 550g I feed 30g liver and that’s plenty. Hope it helps. Been feeding raw for a few years now
  12. Bit of a genius idea there mate! ?
  13. Bit bigger than mine then! I’ve had lamp in one hand, dog under the other arm so he sees what I see. So far it’s taught him to watch the beam. He is 19” and 25lbs
  14. Honestly I’m very impressed with the tracer 170 variable. Was out for 3 hours last night and the 10ah battery is still showing 100%. What cross have you got? glad to hear that yapping can be overcome, I’ve got 1500-2000 acres of permission so hopefully with plenty of trips out the penny might drop
  15. You turn the reflector housing to adjust beam size. When it’s as tight as it can go it’s a pencil beam, a bit tight for me tbh. Mine is one full turn the other way, beam is wider and combined with the dimmer down low as feck is a good beam to scan about with tbh
  16. Since his second outing. All his slips have been within 20m of the quarry. As soon as he’s upon them and they twist and turn, he starts yapping. I stopped lamping for a month, beasted his fitness with uphill sprints and fed him a racing greyhound style diet. He looks spot on, put some muscle on. Thought it would help him running, he’s very fast when he’s silent but wastes so much energy yapping. I’m gutted mate, my 1st lurcher and I don’t know what to do
  17. The dog however let me down with his constant f***ing yapping behind the rabbits. That’s the next hurdle I need to cross
  18. It’s a beast! Had a bit of a tinker with the settings. Got the beam spread the size I want and I was shining it with the dimmer just barely on and could pick eyes out nicely. All in all, very impressed!
  19. I can see the resemblance there alright! Mine is a bit of a stocky little fecker! Really like the dog, nice attitude and his stamina is unreal. Very fast when he’s running silent, but he’s been yapping like a b*****d after he’s made them turn and he runs shit after that. Very annoying
  20. Yeah tell me about it! Went out for a quick shine last night, managed to bag one. I realised just how much I dislike the led beam colour. Missed a few squatters that I found very hard to detect against the grass
  21. Well mate, bit the bullet and bought the 170 variable and a 10ah lithium battery. Also bought the bits need to re-wire it straight away like in the step by step
  22. Cheers king. That’s what I was after! what battery do you use mate? I’m going to get a 12ah sla for now to save some cash.
  23. Hiya lads. I haven’t been getting on well with my plr 500. I find the beam whitewashes everything the same colour. I’m colour blind and need all the help I can get! Anyways, had my eye on a tracer variable. Can’t decide between the 140 vs 170. Has anybody got experiences with both of these lamps as a comparison? Cheers
