  3. nope, try advanced netting. He wants £40+ for what????? not 4z sheet netting, i pay no where near that.
  4. PS i can vouch for that dog, awsome marking and a hell of a grafter. if i wasnt working away all week i'd be first in line to buy a pup ATB REDEYE
  5. Cracking post there steve mate, good to see the shovel out to keep the cold at bay. always the same bloody rabbits backed up just where you dont want them. another good bag though guys well done. ATB Dom
  6. yeah he was excited alrite ! the little f****r was buzzing about like a [bANNED TEXT] nutter on turbo mode lol how long does it normally take to clear a burry ? or is it a case of how long is a bit of string ??? Well done mate sounds like you had a good day, and yes it is a bit of how longs a piece of string. just take things slow if you get one backed up again, if the ferret wont come out the as longnetter said he's busy working the other rabbits. if he/they work through the set apearing at most holes then its probably clear. this rule isnt set in stone though if you've made too mu
  7. Cheers Paul that was a good day mate, another string to the bow cant wait to get out again soon. i can see my next few weeks inbetween making nets will be spent making tealers and wires. someone should try and slow our planitary spin! 24hrs in a day is never enough. thanks again buddy.
  8. I think a lot of 'wool' nets are in fact spun nylon, which is very soft and sometimes fluffy like wool.....it'd be easy to mistake spun nylon for wool and I don't think 100% wool would last too long ATB Spot on just what i was thinking. ive picked up a few nets off people that are made from materials ive never seen or can identify. i guess we've all made nets from stuff we have laying around, some good and others after a few outings in the damp but try we must. 9. JD is right, however an 80lb xbow is a toy compared to the ones you can get. mine is over 170lb draw weight and almost 130ftlb. i only use this for messing around target shooting never live quarry as its illegal in the uk.
  10. Thanks for the invite steve was a good day out. well the dog was the star of the show. absolute cracker! never seen a dog mark so positivley no mistaking and instant marking. trying to convince the wife if i can have one of her pups when they arrive. didnt think teapot was going to make it through the day when his flask broke before we'd even set a net down. lol. thanks again mate see ya soon. ATB Dom
  11. nice one shay glad its all turned out well buddy. Happy new Year t you and the family mate. ATB Dom
  12. They shoot much bigger stuff than fox with 80lb draw, most bow hunting for larger game is done from a hide or high seat. aslong as the blot passes clean through, the mechanical broadheads that they use cause some savage damage and they dont run far. last time i looked into broadheads some were making 3.5 inch diameter holes. edited to say dont think they use the larger heads with 80lb draw bows. 13. think because the hazel is nice and straight its less time consuming mooching around for other pegs. how much are people paying for fibrglass poles now? surely 2 quid a pole with grommets aint a bad price is it? ATB REDEYE
  14. if the covers real thick then try and get up a few days before and clear the ones you intend to do. i used to do a farm at the backend of the shooting season that was always thick, i took me petrol strimmer and a blade and done the whole bank the week before my trip. ATB REDEYE
  15. HA HA that rabbit had a neck like mike tyson i swear hmmmmm lets wait for rob to come and say who set that net that failed, lol. thanks for the invite mate was a good day in the end. ATB Dom.

  17. Books were and still are a good source to learn how to make nets, however you might find it easyier to watch a clip on the net. agouti has some good vids on net making on his site. best advice i could give is PRACTISE PRACTSIE PRACTISE. http://www.agouti-nets.co.uk/tutorials.htm ATB REDEYE
  18. if you stitch some loops of elastic all over it you can add some local follage to enhace the hessian. dont forget to add some black to the suit as there are always shadows in nature. ATB REDEYE
