For shooting it has to be a defender 110 double cab pick-up with some mods e.g. off road tyres, lamp and maybe a rag top back. never shot from one but it seems the best car, plenty of room, wont get stuck. bit like this: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/c3/Land_Rover_Defender_110_Crew_Cab.jpg oli

i think that there is something on the news tonight about this, I dont see how people can critisice young shotgun license holders, alot of them are probably more safe and sensible than some aldults, i have never heard of any young person who legally holds guns who have shot anyone. The most annoying part of this is the anti gun campaign womans coments: (Anti-gun campaign group Mothers Against Guns has slammed the licensing law and said a ten-yearold should not be allowed to use shotguns. Lucy Cope, 55, who created the group after her son was shot outside a London nightclub in 2002,

I'm wanting to attach a piece of soft velcro to my tactical gun stock for a momentary switch but dont know any way of glueing it without damaging the stock, is this just something you have to put up with or are there any other ways to attach it without causing damage. thanks oli

has anyone tried this with a night vision scope or monocular, if it works the range must be pretty good and maybe able to compete with the top end ££££ night vision. oli

not being funny but its hard to fully understand what your saying, you think someone has got your dog and poisined it. could you include some more detail, some one must have got into your house to get your dog? and by the sounds of it you have an idea who it is 'I have some ideas but thay might make things worse'. I hope you find out what happened, and hopefully if you make the situation more clear to people they may be able to advise you. oli

help fitting a yukon nvrs-f night vision scope
olim replied to olim's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
i just tried it in my garden and it seems to be very good even at a short distance, but will try shooting with it tomorow night, it seems to be fairly sturdy just on the rifles rail, im just unsure because the weaver adjuster is meant to convert the scope so it fits an 11mm rail, but i have seen pictures of some rifles with it and some without it. -
I have recently purchased a yukon nvrs-f night vision scope and am trying to attatch it to my bsa scorpion t10, I have tryed to use the (1 piece adaptor weaver to 11mm, 4" dovetail clamp, and 6" Pictatinny/ Weaver mounting length) http://www.opticswarehouse.co.uk/proddetail.asp?prod=BS17021&cat=412 but when i mount it there is a bit of movement as it has a small hinge and this would affect the zeroing, I have tried to fit the scope straight onto the rifles rail and it fits fine but i am worried that this may affect the line up as it doesnt look like the middle of the scope lines up w

does the person need to request the payment?

I wouldt put an ox spring in it, i may be wrong but iv been told that it puts guns over the legal limit, I would sugest a nice new gun. oli

It is easier to get permission for example: through knowing someone that knows someone else that has vermin problems, or being a member of a golf club so that you could ask for permission and be more likely to get it because they would be able to trust you more. good luck in getting permission. oli

I think unlike pigeons, rabbits would be vary wary about this as they can probably tell that it was dead, has any one tryed having the decoy at different distances so the rabbits are more easily fooled. oli

Cant seem to find anything on making tealers
-
Could some on please help me with making rabbit snare tealers, i have tryed to use little sticks but they dont seem to work very well, i have caught with these on fences before but not on the ground, what wire should I use and how do you make them? I have also seen discusions about pro snares and shop bought ones, I have some that i bought at a game fair as 50 single 6 strand snares that had not had the wire put through the eyelet, I did this and the atached a piece of black string. so they look like this, I have not set this to catch but just take a photo. are these suitable?

what do you want to use the gun for. Iv got a bsa scorpion t10 in 177. excellent hunting air rifle, but only gives 50 odd shots per fill which i find is perfect for hunting. oli

you have to be 14 to shoot on private land on your own but to travel with it in a public place you have to be 18 or over

I didnt know the full story, good luck with whatever decision you make, hope it has a good outcome. oli

Fair enough, its up to you how you deal with things, i also despice these type of people but getting back to the idiot shooters, they have to learn, they sound very inexperienced and like beginers, they may not have reacted well to you telling them what they should and shouldnt do, when i started I had a basic understanding of shooting, but learnt a lot from others especially from this site and its members. Think about as if your them, some one you have just met in the pub is lecturing you on how to shoot, in an abrupt tone of voice. Iv had some idiot that i have just met tell my mum

i dont want an arguement, but is it really your place to come in and in a way punish and enforce the law, it may be with good intention but the way you have come across, by being more concerned of how to take his permission than help. I just see it as i wouldnt like it if that happened to me and you wouldnt like it if someone did it to you, even if he is in the wrong. your not sending out a good message of how to gain permission either, if you have so much shooting permission that you cant use it all, consider yourself lucky that you dont need any more, so why do this. oli
-
Why if you have plenty of permission already would you try to take some one elses permission even if he is an idiot, you are obviously jealous, how would you feel if some one took a fancy to your permission and plotted to nick it, I agree that the guy is an idiot and shouldnt have a gun, but stealing his permission isnt going to help and woud not benefit anyone but yourself. not going to make a difference especially if he is happy to poach, offer advice but dont intefere oli

wouldnt it help to cover it up with branches on the outside so its not so obvious to the fox, how are the snares doing? oli

Where do they get that people that hunt deer with dogs are highly organised criminal gangs that sell the meat, I'v heard them say this on every programme like this, the one deer they did find was fully intact and didnt look that much like it had been taken by a dog, the so called badger baiters were not doing anything wrong and how do they know that they wernt rabbit holes I think that they just say this to make viewers have a worst opinion and how can they justify puting people who course on the same programme as robbers and murderers
