Hard to tell from the pic but looks like a old bumble bees nest to me
-
Wasn't having a dig at you d Lloyd or the product. It's been used most nights throughout the winter for the past couple of seasons so has earned its keep and unless someone with a abit of electrical knowledge thinks its fixable ill probably buy another ?

Anyone do this? Hunters choice battery, few years old and had plenty of use so can't really complain, works occasionally if you hold it at a particular angle but iv opened it up and can't see any loose wires or connections? But I know bugger all about batteries. If its buggered as I expect, what are you using? Any other choices out there bar hunters choice and deben? Cheers.

Thanks lads?iv always only kept bitches so bic is really going to mess up the kenneling job. Hopefully he will be worth it? Already wishing this season away?

Well lads, snoopdog is a very good pal of mine. About 18 months ago I persuaded him to let us try and put old razor to a very well bred pure saluki bitch. Unfortunately the first time she didn't take. We decided to go down the AI route and have another go.... we were very lucky and had a successful mating. To say I'm over the moon is a understatement. I bred the first litter out of razor about ten years ago, out of that litter I got my bitch veet.... who to me was something special. Unfortunately I lost her to cancer in her fourth season (2013?) and tbh nothing has compared since.

Council house wasp nest.

In our area tenants always have to pay for their own pest control services. Iv known them refuse to have rats treated in their own properties ( that were originating from a drain fault ). -
Putanges - Made in Yorkshire!
goshawking719 replied to Nicepix's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
Flat pack have changed designs/ materials several times over the years. They are made by a company who has produced industrial springs for years ( not mole catchers) I much prefer their older ones before they started doing only stainless barrels. Still the nest quality Duffus traps I have found by far. Ill definitely try their putanges -
I dont think she is up in those hills hunting rabbits....so fairly sensible not to show pictures of her with game. A nice picture of the dam to show her build, pictures of the last three generations of parents blood lines... you really can't do right for doing wrong on here ? Whats wrong with folk... What can you tell from that picture? I'm sure if he posted a picture of her stood next to 10 hares, 5 reds and and 50 rabbits you'd say he had got them out of the freezer? crabbers will always crab eh

Its was 2 years ago in 4 days the last litter was born.... same stud dog different bitch. Not exactly churning them out. I'm sure if anyone was breeding for money they wouldn't be breeding lurchers when some of the designer mongrels are going for £1500 a pup?!
-
A wall of vanity? A pedigree? If he had just put some names instead of going to the effort of getting pictures of long dead dogs would you be saying the same? All the breeding can be proved... no false claims as to its out of this and that when it isn't.... I bought one of the last pups from troy from Jacob... £100 at 8 weeks old. Maybe you shouldn't assume so much morton?

What do you mean by that? Nice to see someone breeding from tried and tested parents with a good few seasons under their belts

I ran the fens for a lot of years before I got the bitch from jacob and agree they were never needed. Even now when I stick to the local moors more than anything I wouldn't say they were necessary but it's certainly handy to be able to quickly see which direction the dog went after they dropped down the back of a hill etc rather than running after them myself ? It's just a extra insurance policy. If it gets you back your dog once it's well worth it?
-
Yes they are tracking collars. It's not that the dogs necessarily hunt a long way off rather than their quarry can take them quickly take them a long way and out of sight in this kind of terrain. Takes all the worry and stress out of it.

goshawking719 replied to goshawking719's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs

Hi, wondering if it's worth updating to the latest software on the garmin alpha 100... currently working fine with ul maps etc. I remember reading somewhere on here that a few lads got blocked after updating the software but not sure if this is still the case? Thanks... Adam

Any pics of the pup stood up Northern Rock... he looks a real nice stamp.... big ol head on him, just like razor.?
-
Always the way isn't it. I bred the first litter from razor and kept the first born bitch whom I planned to eventually breed of. I had too much fun running her and unfortunately lost her at 5 years old. It wasent to be. I have a bitch here now at 15 months who is raring to go, razor is her grandfather on both sides. Glad to here some of his offspring are producing aswell as having done the business!
-
No straws were ever taken from him unfortunately
-
Razor was buddy x Kim (Charlie x foxy) (smokey x dancer). A top dog in his day and grand sire to these pups ?
-
Took my bitch pup from the litter out for her first look on the lamp Friday night, 3 runs, totally messed up the first on a squatter that I thought she had seen, second run she had it in her mouth but it escaped under a fence. Third run on another squatter from about 50 yards, straight down the beam and just missed her strike, nice little run and picked him up as he was trying to get under a gate. She wasent letting this one go... quick victory lap of the field before bringing it back but i can live with that for her first kill. Over the moon with how this pup is coming on.

Has any one ever tried any of these battery packs from Ebay... very aware you generally get what you pay for but at 10% the price of the deban ones are they worth a try?
-
Sorry to hear about derrie mrschamp606, didn't know that you had lost her. Old dreis still plodding along. Don't think I could of got anything closer to the both of them and nice to have a bit of that blood back inthe kennel. Seems a bloody long time ago now that derrie was lined to razor. Fingers crossed she will turn out as good as her grandparents. Atb Adam

Personally all my external bait stations contain break backs, i cannot see the logic in providing a rat with a potential food source for several weeks between visits at any site. I would rather the possibility of it being dead than being fed. Also had great success using difenacoum with mice, it really isnt far of being a single dose bait as far as toxicity is concerned. Iv found sakarat d-wax being my go to bait on most house mouse jobs over the last few years. I was, possibly mistakenly under the impression that new product labels referring to long term baiting were only regarding
