  1. I have the tripod variety gives even more stability. Adjustable for height only thing you need to make sure that the screws at the top are tight
  2. I bought a r10 when they first came out and spent a fortune on pellets eventually settling on the weirauch ft they are a good pellet which also work well in my hatsan at44-10.
  3. they also have a site for ruger and marlin also claiming to be the main British dealers they also have only one of the latest must have models so better be quick lol
  4. that's the one ...and we all want different tools for different reasons, personally I don't get this one. For field use it is over the top, and just what usable/useful (possible) increase in accuracy will it provide ......(and what is that malarkey of a muzzle break about), and for target work there are better on the market! Please don't get me wrong, I'm sure it is a very fine bit of kit, all the CZ variants are, but I don't understand what this is trying to be?! just trying to appeal to different people across the market i guess. I personally like the heavy barrel varmint
  5. The law has to be followed carefully in these situations, and even forgetting the law, common sense has to be employed! I deal with a lot of foxes in pocket handkerchief back gardens, often much less than 24 yards, neighbours will next to never hear a .22lr moderated sub, but I also use HMR, and very occasionally WMR in these situations as well, a one off crack is also usually dismissed or simply not heard. That of course is not a zeroing session, which will commonly involve several cracks! ATB! but you have a open ticket and you are trusted to make the right choice and not in t
  6. what scope are you using also what ammunition subsonic or high velocity. When you say losing zero about 100 shots is this continuous shooting or occasional vermin where only a few shots are fired
  7. i know that I was just amazed how much crap was in the mod my Hmr seems a lot cleaner compared to the .22lr
  8. i put 400 rounds through a 10/22 earlier in the week it had a brand new sak on when I took the mod off before cleaning the gun the base of the sak was stuck to the thread so I in effect disassembled the mod on the gun, it was unbelievable how much gunk was inside the thing was nearly full up
  9. Just type cz455 into Google you get a company come up called cz UK they have the tacticool but they are charging a premium for it you could get a varmint heavy barrel and source a stock at your leisure
  10. You had a good night, I like the hmr for a small round its very humane. Keep up the good work.
  11. I was looking for another post and saw this i can't believe no one has offered advice so here goes. Even though myself and a lot of the older members on here probably started out with a side by side I would say try a under and over or semi auto apparently having one barrel to look down is easier to master than two. The most important thing though is the gun must fit you if you go to a good gun shop they should help you with this. Atb Roy
  12. I nearly bought one there was a laminate stock version in the gun shop for a very good price glad I didn't now. As a afterthought you aren't firing loads of continuous rounds through it are you the barrel will over heat i have did this with a Hmr with a similar results. Atb Roy
  13. What's the problem with the 597 is it accuracy
  14. I went out today for a field test with my Xmas 10/22 I have heard some stories of these guns being not very accurate i might add that a friend of mine has one and his has always been very good.I set up a target at 25 yards just to get started. i loaded up with rws subs and started, five shots all through the same hole three inches high and to the left. I moved out to 50 yards and after some adjustment I was getting sub half inch groups with the odd flyer down to pilot error you could say I was very happy with the result i did try some cci mini mags but they shot high with a vauge 5 inch patte
  15. I have heard of this range but have been unable to find any contact details for it so if you could find the number out it would be much appreciated atb Roy
  16. If you read through other sections on this forum you will see that a lot of people have a poor grasp or complete ignorance of the general license. I hope the majority have enough understanding of the licence to keep themselves on the right side of the law. The majority of police officers in the field in my experience have no idea about the general license or shooting laws so danw even though I understand and agree with your points don't run away with it. 17. I know but you can never have enough gun's. Merry Christmas everyone
  18. Merry Christmas to all and happy hunting

  19. My view is that the original packaging is designed with safety in mind. You can hold the magazine in your hand slide back the top of the retail box just enough to dispense 5 rounds into same hand as magazine and load . I always go hunting with full strips of five in the box any stragglers stay at home until I use them zeroing or practicing in daytime
  20. I definitely would not use one of these for rim fire ammunition.
  21. Have you looked on riflemags.co.uk you can get a ten round mag on there. A bit expensive but you can't beat having a loaded spare magazine in your pocket in preference to bullets in a pouch. I would rather keep them in their original packaging until they go in the magazine and a box of rim fire ammunition isn't that big.
  22. yes this is normal you have to keep your eyes and head in the same position for each shot you won't get a clear image unless you are lined up properly and the right eye relief
  23. Motorbike and shotgun sounds like your trying to get rid of the little fella. Why don't you get a small air rifle to start him off on gun safety i don't want to be the fly in the ointment but 6 going on 7 years old seems a bit young, start him too early and the big bang can really put them off. it's good he likes his fishing and hopefully it will lead to a life of field sports. Atb Roy
  24. There's one on the deer stalking directory look in the classifieds.
