  1. Its my best bag for a while Ive been there and had nothing but they were just giving themselves up, it was a nice way to christen the new gun though
  2. Where can I get this done for £130 and do they adjust the power to suit atb nasher1
  3. I usually shoot with a .22 S410 and have always hunted with .22 but thursday I bought a cheap .177 Raider off of jonesr116 who is a top bloke, anyway yesterday I went to a permission about 5 o'clock to zero it in and there was loads of pigeons flying about, so first things first I set the board up at 45 yards got comfy and set the gun up while I was doing this I had woodys landing in the trees to my left and ferals landing on the barns to the right, after about five minutes I was happy with the gun so using some steel containers as cover I made some ground up and shot the first wood pigeon of
  4. I would go with your original plan and go with two crow deeks, if you manage to shoot a couple replace the deeks with them, this early in the season you are going to be shooting older birds and they are a lot harder to fool give it a couple of months and you will have this years young about and its a lot easier atb nasher1
  5. not being funny in anyway but the best way for a dog to learn is to get it out lamping on its OWN after real rabbits. i find one man one dog is the best way no other dogs to rip your young dogs prized first rabbit straight out of its mouth, no other lads giving there opinions on everything the dog does wrong (and it will do alot wrong!!) so you can concentrate 100% on doing the best for the dog. they have alot against them in the first place and the last thing you need is a helping hand from an older dog to ruin it!! This is spot on advice listen to it I agree with this 100%
  6. Went to maplins today and they have the car jumpstarts on offer for £19.99 now this has got a 12volt 17Ah battery in it and comes with its own charger, you cant even buy the battery on its own for that.
  7. My s410 doesnt heat up when I fill it make sure you are not over-pressuring the cylinder because A: its dangerous and B: if you blow the cylinder the end flairs out just below the filling valve making it a very expensive and usually a uneconomic repair.
  8. You have took a week to post this did you actually see the match writing this on hearsay
  9. I dont want to hijack your thread but here a few pics of a bitch MLB bred 15 months ago, I promised to keep her updated on her progress but I've only just worked out how to put photos on

  11. looks like you had a great day, I bet the dogs loved it, Im doing a pig farm tomorrow I cant wait been looking forward to it for about a month, atb nasher
  12. nice looking dog he looks a handful, I like the look of the lurcher to whats his full breeding
  13. I found BPC rubbish thru my .22 s410 just passable at 15 yards but forget anything past that
  14. Its just cos he's a pup they nearly all do it at that age, can go on for up to 18-24 months he should grow out of it.
  15. The time is too short between the gun going off and the strike on the rabbit for it to be 100yds, more like 40 yds but the shot sounds like a moderated rimmy anyway
  16. I've had one on a s410 for two years now and find it spot on.
  17. forget the saluki my minds made up the next rabbiter I get is going to be a bedouwin
  18. I bought a 6-24x50AO tasco off ebay as it was cheap while I saved up for a more expensive scope, that was two years ago and it hasn't come off the gun for the money its spot on and I find the reticule excellent hold over, under
  19. I thought the article in the cmw was good and there were some good pictures of sporting staffs, what didnt you like about the article
  20. It takes time for dogs to learn that the light on means theres something for them to chase or pick up, and as said before dont forget the dogs eyeline is a lot lower than yours, so pick your ground carefully when starting a dog on the lamp get some slips where the dog can definatley see the rabbit and the faster it will kick in, so stubble and very lumpy ground is a no-no
  21. I used to have a staffy bitch which used to catch ferals in a local park, could be quite embaressing but interesting to watch, she used to spot the birds blindside em behind a tree to build her speed up and whip round the tree and smash into em, first time she did it i thought it was luck but after the 3rd n 4th time I decided to go to a park with thinner trees
  22. I have the same scope as you have on the gun you attached the video cam to, I have it attached to a .22 s410 its zeroed at 30 meters which means at 20 meters its one line under and at 40 meters its one line hold over, I like the reticule on the scope and find it easyer than a mildot
