  1. Yes birddog. Definitely entertaining. Ha ha!!!! Weedy. ;-)
  2. An interesting thread guys. I past my level 2 around 2yrs ago and was considering working for myself, however an opportunity arose that was at the time and believed to be to good to miss. So took a position as a technician with a medium sized company. Am I so glad I did. The experience has certainly been an eye opener. Some of the things written above my comment are spot on. Sadly there is a lot of poor workmanship out there, and has already been stated driven by cutting prices time and time again. I too after doing what I have had to do believe that doing the job correctly out ways the price
  3. Thanks guys. Have cracked it now. Thanks for the advise . Cheers Weedy.
  4. Thanks The One, Am trying many sorts of ways, but pretty sure I,ve got it now. Thanks Weedy
  5. Well I've made a slight adjustment and it seem's to be working now mate. As you say it is difficult to advise without seeing how I've been knitting. Its a bit sifficult to explain where I think I've been going wrong too, but the best way I beleave to explain it is that I seem to have been knitting in reverse. Hope that makes sense. I think tension may have had a hand in it too. Thanks for the advise though fella. And the same to everyone else who contributed. Chers Weedy
  6. Sorry! Ment to say that I'm currently using spun nylon. Also I'am using a double knot and still getting sum slipping in the net. Very frustrating!! Never have this with spun poly or hemp. Cheers Weedy.
  7. Hi Folks. Have been Knitting nets for along time from hemp and spun poly. How ever I've always struggled to knit successfuly with nylon in any of the z's. Always end up with the net sliping for some reason. Any sugestions as to where I've been going wrong?? Cheers Weedy.
  8. you sound like a tipakle woman So what part of my comment made me sound like a typical woman? My opoin was just that £20 isn't realy alot of money to pay for a ferret, when compared with other items folk pay for. Granted that a footy shirt or tennis raquet wasn't the best example to use.
  9. Good workers are priceless realy. £20?? For the pleasure of your sport?? What do folk pay for a football shirt? or a good tennis raquet? Everyone values items differantly however how do you value a life that is prepared to work for nothing more than the food and shelter that you provide? I hear the french value them far more highly htan we do. Cheers Weedy.

  13. Sound advice there Acuspell and an intresting view.
  14. Well there are many things to take into consideration on making a choice of what sort, breed, or line your going to purchase. It's realy down to things like type of ground, where you live for instance, be it a flat in the middle of birmingham or country estate in scotland. Really all these sort of things need thinking about when choosing what you would buy. and all though this is an intresting thread it realy does come down to personal circumstances. What is good for one man isn't nessercarly good for another. So this cross and that cross realy have no importance to how you will live and work
  15. Or just the result of an increase in the number of people taking up the sport, and telling everyone in the world who logs on to the internet where to find em!
  16. I don't often reply I'm more of a reader, but this thread is absolutley brilliant! Brings back a memory or two. Six years ago I got a job that ment I couldn't beat full time by full time I realy do mean six days a week. Would of done severn had the law of this land let me. Ha Ha Ha!!!!! and because of that I decided not to beat at all and have not looked at my beating kit since. However the job is coming to an end and I'm going to be working for I hope a more resonable employer, and will be looking out for some beating next season. However I've digressed from the subject of this thread. Sorry!
